Well, I missed the show... but even a day late, the results are still just as sweet: our favorite cast took home the award for "Ensemble in a comedy series," beating out 30 ROCK, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, ENTOURAGE, and UGLY BETTY. Nice work, people! The Hollywood Reporter had a few after-award quotes:
Forget about getting a straight answer from the cast of "The
Office," winners of SAG's comedy series ensemble award. In
fact, forget about staying more than five seconds on a topic with
the way the actors cut up the back room. How hard is it to keep a
straight face? "It's very hard to keep a straight face," castmember
Brian Baumgartner said with a straight face. "I'm thinking
they should have a trophy check," B.J. Novak interjected,
"like a coat check, but for trophies." Getting back to the awards
at hand, Novak joked about the cost of his SAG card: "I donated 25
bucks to KCRW, and six weeks later, my SAG card came in the mail."
Saving management for last, a smirking Steve Carell joked
that "Office" creator Ricky Gervais was jealous of the success of
the American version of the series. "In fact, before the show, I
was downstairs in the restroom, and he was there, and he leaned
over the urinal, looked at me, and said, 'I knew it!' That's my
Ricky Gervais story." Carell added that he couldn't wait to be on
Gervais' HBO series "Extras." "I'll follow him wherever he goes,"
he said. Finally, a straight answer.

Hey Matt ~ For a second year, I was able to be in the bleachers next to the red carpet at the SAG Awards. I was a little apprehensive - given the strike and no real confirmation from the cast if they were going to attend - but it ended up being pretty great! Pretty much everyone was there, though Steve Carell didn\'t make an appearance on the red carpet (very big bummer!). The only people I didn\'t actually see were Mindy and Paul, who must\'ve snuck by my section. A couple of major highlights: getting to finally meet Jenna (who looked gorgeous and was so nice!) and having Angela spot ME and come over to chat (with Brian alongside her). I had met Angela after a show in L.A. last spring and also talked to her very, very briefly at the Convention. To have her recognize me was a bit surreal! She is the sweetest person and so incredibly cute with her tummy. :) After having 3 of the cast members come over and chat with my friends and me, the people sitting around us (non-Office watchers) were all commenting on how they should start watching the show! Aside from the off-and-on rain, a good time was had by all. :) I hope your winter\'s going well. I plan on listening to the recent podcast this weekend. :)

Congrats to The Office cast. These videos annoy me though. All of the cast members are are being sacastic and trying to \"out-funny\" the other ones. And all of the people interviewing the cast are asking stupid questions (most of them about Steve Carell) and have obviously never seen the show.

I think the cast is always really funny at award shows. And isn\'t Extras over? so how would steve carell be on it? By the way I just got the complete series of extras. Such a good series. Great comedy and a really good story arch. Also one of the best series finales I\'ve seen.
