Liked the cold open, except the whole Lewis Black explanation was odd. Does an old curmudgeon like Stanley really need to cop material from a stand up comic? For some reason it irks me when they needlessly shoehorn pop culture references into the show. You're writing for a classic sitcom that people will still be watching 20 years from now. Why date yourself so much? Also, how much would Louis Black tickets cost? My guess is *at least* $45. And normally you'd give tickets in pairs. Does Jim - with two babies at home - spend $50-$100 on gifts for every random co-worker in the office? No wonder he was so desperate for that bonus! That aside, I really enjoyed this episode! I agree with Jacob that it was pleasantly dark and there were some truly awkward moments for the first time in ages - for some reason I absolutely loved the scene with Jim and the deviled Cece (It even topped "I'm going to the theater." "NOOOO!!" as my favorite part of the season). Was it just me, or did Robert California coming on to Erin seem really creepy? 50-something CEO plies naive, emotionally damaged young receptionist with alcohol at company Christmas party and then puts the moves on her? Wow. When I heard him say "I want you to make my holidays..."(or whatever his line was) my jaw dropped. For a moment it looked they were about to take a pretty dark turn. I expected that scene to end with Andy going down there like George McFly and telling Robert to "Get your D-D-Damn hands off her!" Let's pray California on Erin don't become a couple (Erbert Californian? Robin Erinfornia?). Although, a spurned Robert California could be interesting. I agree that they may use this set up Mr. C's exit. He's been in almost every episode thus far, and I recall he was only supposed to be in a certain number. However, before he goes, I would LOVE to see a scene with Robert California and Todd Packer. Anyway, you gentlemen have a wonderful season and thanks for continuing this the oddly compelling podcast. Seriously. Why the hell do I listen to a 90-plus minute podcast about a 22 minute sitcom that isn't even funny any more? You guys clearly have talent.

Decent Christmas episode. Back to back episodes that talked about Stanleys birthday. Drunk Erin was interesting. Nice to finally meet Andys girlfriend, but I wished the writers would of left all of that out since Mrs. California is now single. Jim's non-pranking and Dwight's pranking story line was ok. Can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for The Office. Merry Christmas!

I love the Office and it's so sad that it's turned into this. There has been some episodes this season that have been mediocre at the most but The Office has lost it's way and become a bad and over the top parody of itself. This episode along with "Spooked" are the worst episodes I've yet seen.

Decent X-Mas episode. Back to back episodes where Stanleys birthday was talked about. Finally got to meet Andy's girlfriend right at the same time that Mrs. California is single. I wonder where all of that will go? Drunk Erin was interesting. Good impression of Stanley tho.

Good Christmas episode for me. I did not miss Michael ruining the entire party with his juvenile antics. Although, I did miss Michael. Loved Jim saying he gets all pranky when he drinks. How many of the pranks have been conceived while Jim had a drink or two? Also loved Dwight trying to entrap Jim. Just what a wannabe police officer would do. Gift montage was awesome. Except the pamphlet for Jim. That felt fake. Overall for me a solid episode. Who knew that porcupines were so cute?

Wow. Erin has never been hotter. I thought her mood swing was a little over the top, but man, she was hot. I'm guessing the story line with Calofornia is meant to set the stage for his meltdown and departure - possibly a harassment suit from Erin when he won't leave her alone in his post- separation stupor. But man, Erin was hot.

I thought it was an OK episode. Probably a B or so. They want us to care about Erin and Andy, but I'm sorry it's just not going to happen for me. Please just have them together or leave them apart, no will they won't they. I loved the Toby bashing on this episode, though.

Well, we finally got to see Andy's 30+ date girlfriend, Jessica. I do not want to be shallow, but I found the whole episode premise to be unbelievable because I thought she was way too attractive for Andy to not have been freaking out bragging about her to the office. If we look at Andy historically, he has always made a really big deal to his office mates whenever a cute girl came along: Angela, the client that he bargained away from Stanley in "Lecture Circuit," Erin, etc. To think that he was dating Jessica for all this time and had JUST brought her into the office just seems out of character. Then to make him wistfully be concerned about Erin at the end made him seem like he does not care about Jessica much at all! I get that they are eventually trying to put Andy and Erin together, but the writers definitely need to do a lot more explaining as to why the Andy-Jessica relationship is as low-key as it is.

Well yet again we have another drunk staff member at the Christmas party. lol At least it was lovable Erin and not someone long overdue for a trip to rehab. Oh, wait, Meredith was drunk too. I wish I cared more about her relationship with Andy, but I don't. I care even less about Daryl and Val. Yes, I wondered if both he and Kelly were wearing fat suits. Back to Erin, I must say I was completely grossed out by the mere thought of her hooking up with Robert. The cold open with Stanley was funny and any performance of Carol of the Bells will always win with me. Dwight, Creed, Abe and the slow person in the warehouse totally rocked it out. I enjoyed the episode. I didn't think that I would without Michael.

A very dark, surprising episode of the Office! This isn't to say it wasn't good, because I thought it was an A-. Would someone really leave their CEO husband just because of him not wanting her to work with him? A little unbelievable. I thought drunk Erin was very cute, and well performed though the montage scene with Trans Siberian Orchestra playing seemed very dark and scary. I expected her to grant the Christmas Wish she gave Andy herself. The information on the episode on Wiki and the TV is very off. I never got the impression that Robert drank too much. And very little of the episode was actually about Andy granting wishes. The Darryl putting on the tux was reminiscent of Jim and Pam with the cut veil and Jim cuts off half his tie. Overall, not my favorite, but a decent Christmas Episode.

A problemed episode, but definitely one of the better ones this season. A couple questions arose: Have Erin and Andy ever had sex? It kind of seemed like their relationship had basically stalled around hand holding. When would she have seen his penis? Is Meredith not afraid of Jim anymore? She suddenly was in the Halloween episode and now, she's not. Has Val never been to a office type party? Her overdressing like she did feels like something no one could possibly do. How did she even have that dress on hand?
