EDIT:
Best. Episode. Of. The. SEASON! :) ----- Only a few more hours left until the longest episode in the history of THE OFFICE. The Boston Herald TV critic has already called this episode an "instant Christmas classic," and hopefully he's not just engaging in hyperbole. I've always enjoyed Harold Ramis, so hopefully he'll work some of his patented magic here with the Dunder-Mifflin crew. Post your comments here! EDIT: The image above comes from NBC.com/the_office... send a lovely holiday e-card to your favorite "The Office" fan today!

I loved the episode where Meredith enters alcohol rehab counseling program, it really brings back memories from my first job as a news reporter.

i just saw the toby/angela scene, hilarious! angela is such a bitch--how dare she slap toby! what cracks me up though is how he still manages to barely react and it\'s a totally delayed reaction. LOL ah, i love me some toby. is it just me or does anyone else think toby probably smoked a lot of pot as a teenager? well, i guess if you go to amsterdam and don\'t remember how long you were there...

yeah, i thought the change of the waitresses was intentional to emphasize that michael was too stupid to realize the who was who. (whom?) anyway, i heard there was a deleted clip where angela slaps toby. does anyone know anything about that \'cause its not on the nbc website. i think maybe that\'s the one ryan was talking about towards the top of the postings. i can\'t imagine what would warrent angela to slap toby--i REALLY want to know! i can only think that it involves a similar gag with kevin and the robe. LOL!!

RE: Spoilers I read/watch spoilers like mad as well, and while sometimes I agree with you, Martin, most of the time I actually like that I know the basic plot because then I don\'t get so hung up on what\'s going to happen and I can just enjoy the small moments and the stuff I didn\'t know was going to happen. Then again, I\'ve already proven myself an anomaly. :)

I\'m not sure who I\'m more creeped out about at karaoke: Kevin or Kelly. Still, it made for an awesome party--planned, of course, by the awesome Committee for Planning Parties. I have to say, I\'m particularly pleased with this show\'s consistent ability to put on excellent episodes during non-sweeps months. Halloween, Booze Cruise, last years\' and now this years\' Xmas. All tremendous shows. I may never be able to adequately describe my love for this show. Please may it not descend into suckitude.

I just re-watched the episode and my new favorite set of lines: Michael: I\'d like everybody\'s attention. Christmas is cancelled. Stanley: You can\'t cancel a holiday. Michael: Keep it up, Stanley, and you will lose New Years. Stanley: And what does that mean? Michael: Jim take New Years away from Stanley. I LOVE that Michael thinks he has the power to cancel Christmas and New Years. Ha ha ha. If the call was to Jan, I wonder why she accepted? But really, aside from his mum, who COULD it have been? Poor, poor pathetic Michael!

Dec. 15: Wikipedia Wikipedia\'s list of five new episodes. It is Wikipedia after all, and they seem like red herrings. And they sound really stupid. The first one seems plausible. Jan. 18, The Competitor After being angered by Andy’s closeness to Michael, Dwight takes a job at a rival paper distributor. Michael tries to keep his tentative hold on his current paramour. And Karen and Roy both find out the real reason Roy’s and Pam’s engagement was canceled. Feb. 1, The Test After he is caught not knowing the capital of Pennsylvania, Michael creates a “citizenship? test that every employee must pass to keep his or her job — and one person fails. Dwight starts up a company newsletter, and suddenly a competing newsletter (anonymously written) appears. Meanwhile, an “Office?-mate learns that she is unexpectedly pregnant. Feb. 8, Singles Party For her first Valentine’s Day in years without a boyfriend, Pam — and the unexpectedly single Oscar — decide to throw a party for all their unattached friends at the office. When all of the other guests find dates, Pam is left alone — until an unexpected guest arrives. Meanwhile, Andy and Dwight form an alliance to try to prank Jim, and after some inappropriate office nudity, Michael forces Meredith to enter his personal alcohol counseling program. Feb. 15, The Policy After getting fed up with Michael’s advances, Jan institutes a new policy that coworkers at Dunder-Mifflin are not allowed to date. Michael tries to decide whether to keep his job. Angela finds a loophole, but Dwight isn’t sure he wants to go through it. And the camera crew inadvertently finds something very interesting while eating supper in Carbondale. Feb. 22, Hide and Seek No synopsis listed.

At the end of the episode I was screaming \"he\'s still in love with her!\" in my brother\'s ear, which is obvious, but it was great to hear it spoken out loud. I LOVE when Andy sings, which is apparently a weekly feature. I hope Pam recruits him to sing at her wedding (to Jim) instead of Scrantonicty. But speaking of Scrantonicty...they need to think about adding Darryl, Darryl, Darryl. Ryan and Kelly...I kind of like how they alternate between cute moments, like the candy cane, and horrifying moments, like Kelly\'s serenade. It\'s like the show in relationship form. Question.(s) What terrible movie did Jim and Karen give each other? Briget Jone\'s Diary? Terrible movie, teapot, terrible movie, teapot. (I LOVED Kevin\'s talking head, fudge brownies, Angela, fudge brownies, Angela, fudge brownies, Angela.) Why did Jim say hello to Carol? He doesn\'t know her? Does he? What did Roy give Pam? My guess is a photo album, here are some reminders of our relationship...which is over.

Hey gang - haven\'t had time to post in awhile (although I never miss a podcast!) but I had to post a short comment about the AWESOMENESS of this episode!!! Best episode ever! I couldn\'t stop laughing. I about peed myself when Michael marked the girl from Benihana (aka Asian Hooters) b/c he couldn\'t tell them apart! Then Toby touching Kev\'s robe longingly, Michael photoshopping himself into Carol\'s family photo, Dwight on the roof, Angela running, Party Planning Committee vs Committee to Plan Parties, etc etc. Not to mention the emotional rollercoaster of feeling sad when Jim rejected his \"gift\" from Pam, then the initial awkward feeling (turned unstoppable alliance) of Pam and Karen, then happy that Jim decided to play along with Pam, and finally ecstatic to know that Jim still loves Pam and Karen is just his rebound!! And as annoying as Dwight and Angela can be (in a good way) how cute was it when they held hands! Lots of music for Jim\'s ipod too! Too much great stuff....must rewatch episode....

That was really excellent! I think having double the running time really let them stretch out and balance things between plot and humor in a way that a scant 22 minutes doesn\'t allow. I was so glad that Pam came to Karen after the meeting and ended up conspiring with her about the other party. I thought at first that nobody was going to stand up to Angela! And the look on Toby\'s face when Pam gave him his robe - his crush on her is going to be out of control now. Right after the episode ended, I got a text from my friend that said, \"You have been compromised. Destroy phone.\" LOL!!!

I still like the Yankee Christmas episode better. Happy Birthday Jesus. . sorry your party is so lame. So basically Phyllis is saying You do so much for the office but I only care about you a homemade oven mitt\'s worth. Funny funny funny. . . This year had its moments too. -Michael marking his date with a marker -Kevin contemplating which party to attend -Dwight getting pushed out at lunch -Jim playing the 2nd in command card -Karen/Pam bonding while against Angela And the very most important part was Jim\'s explanation of rebounds. . .Sorry Karen, you\'re nice and all but looks like you are just someone to pass the time. . . Yet . . looks like Roy is gaining some ground . .

I\'ve only watched once so far, but a couple of thoughts. Kevin -- I very much agree with you about this episode showing how central Pam is to the office. Also, finally, they did not over-write her new assertiveness. For me, it seemed much less forced in this one. Also -- finally some #3/#2 battling! I thought that scene was just about perfect. And -- another finally -- yay, Jim admits out loud that Karen is his rebound girl and Pam is still in his heart. Have to watch again sans commercials. The first two seasons I watched the show exclusively off iTunes. I now find it really hard to feel the continuity of the show with commercials. Also, it\'s always funnier without commercials. I know that doesn\'t really make sense, but it\'s true. For me. Of course, if it\'s a funny episode, there\'s also the \"Matt Phenomenon\" of increasing returns, a well known neuro-psychological phenomenon.

Toby and Angela are my least favorite characters but that deleted scene worked on so many levels. First of all... Hi-larious! Secondly, nice to see Toby push back a little and slightly raise himself out of his usually pathetic hole. It\'s about time Angela had what\'s coming to her. Thirdly, as the same time, I can understand Angela\'s POV when she says that Michael was right. Outstanding! You know, there\'s so much graet content with The Office, do you think they\'d ever consider making it an hour show?

(oops, another late night post. I\'ll try to contain myself. . .) I loved it. This episode felt the most like Seasons 1 & 2 than any thus far. We got pranks, classic Angela, more Dwight! and Michael crying which, I\'m sad to say (because it makes me sound like some kind of sadist)is my favorite thing Michael does. Also, placing Dwight on the other end of the couple at Benihanas -- priceless. Ha ha ha! I\'m still laughing. \"Everyone, Christmas is cancelled.\"

Best of the season? How about best of all time? Okay, the jury is still out on that one but this was such a good, and funny, episode. And before another moment passes, let\'s discuss the cliffhanger. Who did Michael call and invite to Sandals? One must assume it is Jan, but could it be someone else? Todd Packer, perhaps? I\'m rooting for Jan though. Are we sure the documentary crew can\'t go with them? Loved loved loved the Pam/Karen interaction! Talk about chemistry? Forget Jim and Pam, how about Karen and Pam! ;-) It\'s so clear after tonight how integral Pam is to the office. She\'s probably more central right now than Michael is. Her stuff with Jim, Dwight, Toby, Michael, and Roy was great. I think the Dwight sitting apart from the others at the restaurant was a bit far fetched. Why wouldn\'t those people move over - esp. after Dwight was all over them? It was nice to see the characters in a new setting, too. And, like others, nearly peed on myself when Michael marked Cindy. Hi-larious! I like Michael and Andy\'s explosion handshake. We definitely need to keep Andy and Karen around on a permanent basis. Great cameo appearance by Oscar! The best part of the episode, however, was Stanley\'s decision on which party to go to. ONLY STANLEY could have made that decision so effectively. He relished it more than his yearly pretzel. For one day anyway, Stanley was the king of the office.

okay--AWESOME AWESOME EPISODE and it totally topped last years x-mas episode!! soooo good, my sides hurt from laughing! i can\'t wait to download it tomorrow. i love karen/pam teaming up!---but i love even more the fact that jim alluded to the FACT that PAM is his TRUE LOVE!!! i hate to sound like a fan-girl but, how cute was toby in this episode?! i was crying laughing when he was touching kevin\'s robe! so many sweet moments like kelly putting the candy cane on ryan\'s nose and angela and dwight holding hands! 5 star episode, not a single dull moment! i can\'t wait for the podcast! :) (no, i didn\'t have a lot of sugar! this episode deserves this many exclamation points!!!!)
