Episode # 8.0 of THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID finds both Matt and Ian vying for the bouquet at the wedding of the century. Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to witness the joining of this lovely couple in merged bliss... Scranton, do you take Stamford to join your branch, to love, torture and humiliate them, to make things not better but WORSE, as long as you both shall live? You do? Really? It's the moment we've been waiting for, folks-- Jim is back... bringing treble with him. Will things go as smoothly as Michael hopes, or will we suffer a quicky divorce? One thing I *DO* know? Ed Helms + Rainn Wilson = Crazy delicious! Incidental music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network. Me again, late to the party. Excellent podcast as usual. In answer to the lactation question, I have indeed pumped at the office, but NEVER in full view of my colleagues. I used a supply closet (no outlets in the bathroom, plus, ew!!!), and was walked in on about 8 times. Over a 4 month period. But that\'s just how popular I am around here.

If Pam was really wanting to get back together with Jim then the week after her and Roy broke up she would have been in Stamford professing her love to him. Instead she played coy and stayed back home. She doesn\'t want Jim, she wants the puppy dog Jim that is head over heels for her and hangs on her every word. It would never have been an equal relationship. Karen likes Jim and I think Jim likes Karen, it\'s a far more equal relationship, and if it doesn\'t work then at least Pam has had some time on the sidelines to decide if she really like Jim or just liked the fact that he was someone who payed more attention to her than Roy. I think the last season J&P will get together, but if it happens now the show is basically over, or we\'re going to go through years of pointless breakups and makeups just to keep the tension between them.

I think Jim and Pam\'s relationship is mirrored by the phone call at the end of Training Day...I mean \"Initiation\". Its been a series of misunderstandings. Each of them is trying to read the other and coming away thinking, \"I had a chance with Pam/Jim but she/he isn\'t interested in me anymore.\"

After re-watching some Season 2 episodes, I realized that Jim went on his trip to Australia and hasn\'t mentioned it once! We can only assume, since his ticket was non-refundable, that he did in fact go on this trip. Maybe it was the kind of trip that Toby mentions he took to Amsterdam after his divorce... Do you think we\'ll ever get to hear about it?

We seriously need one guide for all of the character name combinations. Jam, Halpeesley, Rangela, Dwangela, now Flendippelli (nice one Elisa). It makes one\\\'s head spin. Michael\\\'s one-way feud with Toby is perhaps my favorite part of the Office. Just pure hatred with no basis in reality. Flendersoooon!

Hey guys! Happy Thanksgiving! Now, on to the most important stuff, The Office. After listening to last weeks podcast, I\'m surprised you guys didn\'t mention the interaction between Pam and Toby in the cold open. No wonder why the next episode has Toby getting advice from Jim about asking Pam out, she\'s kinda flirting with him, taking personal interest in his life (i.e. running), and in my opinion, sort of leading poor Toby on because let\'s face it, he doesn\'t have a chance in hell.
-
Thank you, Nomi! I think the guys are just jealous. ;-) It\'s all good, Ian. Your podcast still rocks the house! I must admit that I\'m glad they haven\'t done anything with the Toby/Pam storyline because I might\'ve had to start hating on Toby for coming between Pam and Jim. Maybe when the Karen/Jim thing ends (because Jim and Pam get together as nature intends!) Toby should get together with Karen. They can have little \"Flendippelli\" babies. (we have to put an end to these name-combos...)

Matt & Ian: What the HELL?! NOT cool making fun of my Toby crush--REDACT IT! (and Flenderson is not a tool...okay, maybe a little...) For some reason, Andy really irks me. Ed Helms is funny but Andy is just the poor man\'s Dwight Schrute. And I hope they get rid of that breast pump woman \'cause she seems like she\'s gonna be annoying as hell! Martin Nash could work out as good addition to the cast. I love Jim but I agree with Johanna, he\'s starting bum me out. It\'s not \"Fancy New Beesly\", its more like \"Fancy New Halpert\" we should worry about! What\'s going to happen when Oscar gets back? Isn\'t Andy sitting at his desk?

Hey guys! Excellent podcast, once again. I just wanted to point out that I don\\\'t think they\\\'ve abandoned the whole Toby/Pam dealie completely -- not even put it on the back burner. In my very humble opinion, it\\\'s still there and thriving. Pam knew Toby was running a race. To me that says that he may not be actively trying to ask her out at the moment, but he\\\'s definitely working on getting closer to her. They must have chatted at some point. Off the top of my tired little head I can\\\'t recall another time when Pam focused on something personal about Toby. Anyway, I think he\\\'s taking things nice and slow -- until he can work up the courage to ask her out. I am also going to agree full heartedly with the other women on the board and say: lacting in full view in public? No, not a good idea. That\\\'s what the women\\\'s loo is for. Of course, maybe there were no outlets in there. Well, at the very least, she could have draped her coat over her shoulder. Sheesh! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

It was definitely a bar, not Karen\'s pad. And, it was \"a drink\" not \"a coffee\" that Pam wanted. Big difference from Jim\'s perspective, eh? Did you notice how Jim knew who was on the phone before even answering? He had her number programmed in his cellphone! Another great podcast episode. And nice job dropping Sam Van Halgren\'s name! (my filmspotting nickname: Captain Bullseye).

It\'s not just Jim\'s change of heart toward grape soda that has altered his character. *HE* is the one who made the episode so uncomfortable. Everyone was so excited to have him back, they were ready with handshakes and hugs and all he could return were awkward one-liners. Perhaps he really has moved on to bigger and better things. His loveable humorous personality, which has been oddly maintained since his move to Stamford, was quite meager in \"The Merger.\" Tuna, you\'ve gotta be kidding me! Now that Pam thinks Jim is seeing Karen, the claws will fly. They\'ll fly subtly, but I\'m sure Pam can make someone\'s life pretty miserable. Or maybe she\'ll pity-date Andy? Yuck.
-
I was surpised you guys didn\'t mention Andy\'s new nickname - Penquin! I\'ll be interested to see if Andy catches any flak for calling Jim \"Tuna\" from any of the old Scranton folks. I\'m really interested in Jim\'s story -- seeing how he will grow as a person. Maybe he\'ll try \"management\" out for a while (I can\'t wait for his employee review of Dwight) and then return to a non-management position? BTW - I didn\'t think Jim dissed Toby (then again, I think Toby is a tool).
-
Matt, I\'m glad you came around on this episode. I haven\'t had a really bad reaction to any of the episodes this season, but I have noticed that upon repeat watchings, I find them considerably funnier than they were to me on the first viewing. I\'ll admit to a little trepidation about Andy fitting in with the Scranton gang too, but I\'m right with you both in feeling liked it WORKED. I love Ed Helms! The \"personality mirroring\" thing had me falling out of the chair laughing. I do think Jim is seeing Karen. Obviously I don\'t think it\'s anything serious, but I think they\'ve gone out on a few dates. Karen is very professional and the way she put her hand on Jim\'s back in the parking lot had a familiarity about it that I don\'t think would be there if there wasn\'t some indication from him that he was interested in her. Female point of view: no, I would NOT lactate in public! It seems to me that a bit more discretion would be in order... especially in a new workplace. No, scratch that - in ANY workplace, even if I had been there for a long time. I\'m not a particularly uptight person and yes, it is a natural thing, but I would definitely keep that private. Enjoy your week off, guys - you deserve it!
