Well, it's Thursday again... and no new OFFICE to help brighten the dreary autumn days. While pondering this tragedy, I started to wonder what YOU guys were doing to fill your TV watching time.
Me? Not watching much TV at all anymore. I'm hoarding all my HEROES episodes from this season until episode #11 airs (the mid-season finale), since I think the show plays much better in one long viewing. Despite really hating the guy on Fox's "Hell's Kitchen" show, I have sort of become addicted to watching Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares" shows (both the US edition on Fox, and the UK version on BBCAmerica). The US version really amps up the conflict, but I'm still enjoying watching old Gordon raise hell in these failing restaurants (the UK version IS much more enjoyable, though). Other than that... not much. Lots of Simpsons and Family Guy reruns. So again, what about you guys? Have you switched to DVDs? Are you watching lots of reality shows? foregoing TV entirely? Are you actually -- gasp! -- reading? Inquiring minds want to know.

I was watching Heroes but that\'s now on hiatus too. Lately I\'ve been reading the Book of General Ignorance, as well as His Dark Materials, both with are pretty good. I might try to catch up on Pushing Daisies though, since everyone said it was pretty good.

I find myself watching too much Bravo and Food Network and have moved my obssessive television behavior over to \"Chuck\" and \"Nip/Tuck\". I have watched all The Office epsiodes on DVD again (twice) since the strike began and picked up the British version to quench my thirst for the uncomfortable. Next I\'m moving on to Season 1 of Heroes and Season 2 of House. Matt- I must ask- Are you going to do anymore Retro episodes in the absence of new material?

Well the big show that has broken through at the Iowa D Chi house is Friday Night Lights. The season 1 DVD has been circulating from room to room and is the best season of any show I\'ve seen since Season 2 of The Office. Over thanksgiving I started watching My So-Called Life which is 90\'s melodrama but still addicting. I\'ve made it out to the movie theater more too and saw No Country For Old Men (awesome!) and Lars And The Real Girl (pretty damn good). Ill probably check out Heroes and possibly Twin Peaks over my winter break.

I hate to say it, but reality TV has been keeping me pretty content the last few weeks, with The Amazing Race, Project Runway, America\'s Next Top Model and Survivor still in rotation. My husband and I will probably rent the first season of Friday Night Lights if/when we start to get bored. Last night was rented movies -- Hairspray and The Illusionist (I recommend both). And I think I have a couple of unwatched episodes of Reaper on the DVR. That\'s the only new show I started watching this season, though I\'m regretting having missed Pushing Daisies and Samantha Who? I need to look and see if they are online somewhere.

RE: Futurama Aw, that\\\'s just Thursday (Tuesday?, Wednesday?)Matt talking. Seriously, I enjoyed it. It may not have been as balls out funny as some episodes of the series, but they\\\'ve definitely maintained the quality of animation and writing the show was famous for.

My roommate borrowed the dvd\'s of Freaks and Geeks from his girlfriend this week, so we\'ve been watching that. He also brought the third season of The Office and Indecision 2004 back with him from home after Thanksgiving break. And this week I picked up the new Futurama dvd... so that\'s how we\'ve been keeping busy.

right now I\'m cherishing the last few episodes of shows like pushing daisies and 30 rock. After most of them end next week I\'ll probably just stick to netflix, dvds, and podcasts. I\'m really not into reruns cuz I own most of the shows I would watch a rerun of on dvd.

matt! i soooooooo love \"kitchen nightmares\"! i watch it every wednesday, gordon ramsey is awesome. i always thought \"hells kitchen\" was retarded, and it is, but this show is way better. i watched a marathon of \"curb your enthusiasm\" and i almost peed my pants laughing! second best show next to the office!

Matt, does your glum mood explain the new melancholy picture? If you like the mean side of Gordon Ramsay you\'ll be charmed by his funny side on BBC America\'s \"Gordon Ramsay\'s F Word\". I have no idea who the British B-list celebrities are that he has in his restaurant each week (except for Joan Collins, and I think that was just because she is on \"Footballers Wives\"). But the show in and of itself is much funnier and shows that there\'s more to this guy than being a bastard. Staying on the British theme, any episodes of \"MI-5\" that you can catch are definitely worth viewing. This spy show blows everything done here in the US WAY out of the water. They tackle riskier subjects and don\'t sacrifice character development. They\'ve released 4 seasons here in the US with Season 5 coming out on DVD in January (I\'ve already pre-ordered mine on Amazon). Can\'t say enough good things about this show. Earlier episodes had British actors like Hugh Laurie. As far as non-British TV shows, I encourage everyone to join Tar Heel Nation and cheer on the #1 UNC Tar Heels. They play their next game on Saturday at #10 Kentucky. Big early-season game. Speaking of TCM, my cable system has a bunch of free TCM movies on demand so that might be an option. It\'s otherwise going to be a long cold winter.

Amazing Race, and a variety of what\'s on my husband\'s DVR (mostly Mythbusters). Oh, please WGA/AMPTP, please be done negotiating soon. Speaking of which, I almost, ALMOST trained to become a negotiater. The goal was to negotiate bargaining agreements between unions and companies. I\'m not sure why, but I ended up being a corporate paralegal instead. Whatever. I still work for the man.

Tonight is the big Packers-Cowboys game, and since Charter doesn\'t carry the NFL Network, I\'ll be going to a bar to watch it. Football and beer, Yay! Good thing I only have to work a half day tomorrow. Other than that, it looks like it\'s gonna be Netflix here on out. I\'ve got over 200 DVDs in my queue, So I should be okay for awhile. Nothing can replace a new episode of \"The Office\" though. I really hope we don\'t have to wait until next fall for a new ep. There are no words to describe how much that would suck.
