Well, but Pam obviously knows that Dwight and Angela are a couple. Angela virtually confessed when Dwight went to NY for her and she went out for coffee with Pam. And way before that she knew. Even as far back as The Injury, she made sure to let Angela know that Dwight would be OK.
-
Pam tried to let Jim in on her suspicion during Email Surveillance, and he shot down the idea. It\'s possible that\'s why she chose not to tell him once she confirmed it. I agree the Kevin storyline never really got resolved; hopefully another deleted scene will surface? Maybe it was cut on purpose, because it only really mattered who Jim picked, but I still would like to see Kevin\'s list.
-
Yeah, and didn\\\'t she get all shaken up when Phyllis said it was obvious there was something between her and Jim? Didn\\\'t she kind of resolve not to poke her nose into other relationships so as not to assume that two people couldn\\\'t \\\"just be friends\\\"? Still a little silly that she never would have told Jim, but she did get freaked out during that scene with Phyllis at Jim\\\'s party.
-
Curosity? I for one wonder what Kevin would came up with and why. I\'m a bit disappointed he didn\'t fill us in. . . :) Otherwise, I just think Jim did it because he teases and jokes around with his coworkers all the time. Plus, it was a way to make light of a potentially awkward and irritating conversation. Finally, it made Kevin go away.

Alison wrote: Also, I can\'t wait for Jim and Pam to realize they BOTH know about Dwight and Angela! I have to say, it just never seemed quite right to me that Pam wouldn\'t have told Jim what she knew about this way back in Season 2, when they were still close friends. When did they ever resist the urge to talk about their office-mates withe each other?

Straight from the myspace blog of B.J. Novak: \"We are already hard at work writing the next season, which will be a very exciting one. Especially for Ryan, of course, who has risen quickly from temp to sexually-harassed salesman... to Michael\'s boss.\" http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=3241662&blogID=266132650&MyToken=c5581813-c77f-455b-97bb-0640b336d351 I think it\'s pretty clear Ryan is Michael\'s new boss. I think that will be an incredibly funny dynamic. I think some people are thinking way too much into things. Sure, the show has had its twists, but Jim said \"DATE.\" I do not think the writers would be so cruel as to toy with us \"Jam\" fans by not really making it one! I don\'t think we\'re going to see Jim and Pam\'s relationship outside the office; that just isn\'t the show. What I am really looking forward to is getting back to seeing the fun Jim and Pam interaction that was missing from season 3. Now the show won\'t be \"consumed\" by the will they/won\'t they stupidness, and we can move on to having more fun with the other characters on the show. Maybe it\'ll be Kelly\'s season to rediscover herself? Ha. Also, I can\'t wait for Jim and Pam to realize they BOTH know about Dwight and Angela! Can\'t wait to hear what you guys think on your podcast!

It was often said (in the podcast in particular), that there is a huge dilemma in sitcoms with sexual-tension... and inevitable dying out of a show after the tension is resolved. I echo the faith in the writers. - We have some random potential for Ryan and Karen (how could that even work). - Oddly enough, Michael and Jan are endearing and interesting as a couple (especially with Michael officially wearing the pants.. woman pants... but at least they\'re not stretch pants... by the way, where\'s Darrel been lately?) - And there\'s always some obligatory and also just fun working out of Jim & Pam. Outside of the dating relationship stuff, there\'s a whole bunch of potential conflict with either Ryan or Karen at corporate. Oh.. and if Ryan got the job, I think Jan should take his old job as the temp: sweet cheeks get replaced with boob job... sorry, I mean boob enhancement-jan
-
No, I don\\\'t expect them to follow Jim and Pam around on their first date or anything like that. I just won\\\'t be satisfied by something like the first episode of this past season (I think Matt mentioned this in a recent podcast), where they come back and several months have passed. Even though we got the end of the final \\\"Casino Night\\\" scene, we still missed a lot -- I would have liked to have seen Pam\\\'s reaction to hearing that Jim would be leaving for Stamford and Jim\\\'s reaction to hearing that Pam had called off her wedding at the very least. Similarly, there *are* moments they can show, in the office, at the beginning of this new phase of their relationship, and I\\\'d like to see some of that rather than skipping ahead a few months when the new season begins.
-
Truly amazing finale, everything, the tone, the writing, and even the characters were in perfect shape. I believe that at this point, and attempts to compared the UK and US Office\\\'s should be disregarded, as the US version is its own show now, and will be a legacy in television long after it has ended.
-
Jim and Karen\\\'s relationship troubles have always been eluded to, but we never really saw it much. Beach Games had that forced and awkward scene about working in a well... and then the Job had an even more awkward \\\'joking around\\\' scene while Jim and Karen drove to the interview. Bad writing?... I don\\\'t think so at all (in both Beach and Job). I think that they writers wanted us to see the total lack of connection in Jim&Karen\\\'s relationship. But enough of that... it\\\'s over.
-
On second viewing- liked the episode even more and am still tearing up over \"It\'s a date...\" I don\'t know if Jim truly left Karen in the city to get back to the new and improved Beesley, but, if he did, would that trump Roy leaving Pam at the hockey game as the worst boyfriend behavior? Since Jim came back to Scranton it has seemed like he has been in a funk, and he said he felt that way when he was with Pam down by the water. As a Jammer, I just want to see Jim and Pam start having fun with each other again; the best shows are when they and the rest of the office can showcase their characters\' personalities for a common purpose (a Christmas party, the Dundies, Booze Cruise, etc.) It feels like they are one big dysfunctional needy family where it\'s tough to live with \'em and it\'s tough to live without \'em. And....will Jim get his homeless hair back?
-
I totally agree with you about Ryan, Tracie. That would be a terrible fake-out. It might work in the context of an episode, but over the summer hiatus? No way. Another amusing notice for me: Michael kept all the customers after the merger, but still managed to cut costs. Well sure he cut costs -- how many employees quit or were fired since the merger? At least four that I can think of (Tony, Martin, Hanna and Roy). And as far as we can tell, none of them have been replaced. That\'ll lower the ol\' bottom line for you. Doesn\'t necessarily say much for his management skills, though.
-
Tracie said: \\\"I for one will be disappointed if they come back in the fall with several months having gone by and we miss all the beginning stages of that relationship. I wouldn\\\'t want them to overdo it, but I\\\'d like to see at least some of it. After all this waiting, they owe us, don\\\'t they?\\\" Yes! They owe us. Big time. And I want his homeless hair back too.

okay, as soon as work was over, i rushed home to re-watch on itunes. and...yes, i cried again!! i also don\\\'t expect to see a slow buliding romance. i mean, wasn\\\'t that what seasons 1-3 were? i also don\\\'t expect them to be living together or married come next season. i wouldn\\\'t want to see their personal lives, i think it\\\'s better left to the imagination. i also doubt jim and pam would let the documentary crew go with them on their first date...they\\\'ve both been waiting for it for a LONG time (as have we!) and it would be ridiculous if they were like, \\\"sure, film us going to the movies or chilling at home.\\\" nah. it would feel really wrong and invasive, even though it\\\'s just a show. i do think it would be funny to see jim meet pam\\\'s parents or vice-versa. (but PLEASE...i don\\\'t want to see michael\\\'s mom!) as far as ryan. i assumed he did get jan\\\'s job. like posted earlier, why else would david wallace call him personally? (p.s.-the guy that plays wallce is great. i hope he\\\'s back sporatically next season.) ryan probably will be a prick. he\\\'s always had this idea that he is better than everyone in the office. i think it\\\'ll be interesting to see how jim reacts to it...i have a feeling ryan will be rubbbing it in his face or treating jim like a nobody. and then jim and pam can prank him! (maybe kelly and dwight can help!) as irritating as ryan is, i hope b.j. novak isn\\\'t leaving. he\\\'s a great writer, very funny and plays a convincing asshole. creed should be toned down next season. (i guess the creed-blog this ruins the joke. or you could just do what i did....don\\\'t read it.) **OH! why does everyone hate their HR guys at dunder mifflin?! wallace was ragging on his HR guy during jim\\\'s interview--i didn\\\'t catch that until the second viewing. LOL! my poor toby...no respect!
-
I thought it was strange that they decided to post the blog entry too. You\'re right, it does defeat the purpose of the joke. Though it does give us more of a peek into the weirdness that is definitively Creed. Which may or may not be a good thing... jury\'s still out on that one. (Still not as funny as Toby\'s MySpace page though.)

Why would they have Wallace offering Ryan some corporate job other than the one the others were interviewing for during the episode? That would be a pretty unnecessary fake-out if you ask me. I loved the ending but couldn\\\\\\\'t believe it was the end -- it happened so quickly! On second viewing, I liked that they were building toward Jim\\\\\\\'s decision through the whole episode -- Karen having him get the haircut (and his oh-so-slightly bitter comment about her \\\\\\\"lovingly\\\\\\\" wanting him to not look homeless), her noticing every little bit of interaction he had with Pam and wanting to get him out of the office and to NY sooner, and their activities and conversations once they got there. It was clear that he was very comfortable with her but he didn\\\\\\\'t ever light up with Karen the way he did with Pam. And it was nicely done and believeable that Karen basically said \\\\\\\"her or me\\\\\\\" -- I couldn\\\\\\\'t blame her at all, but clearly he was going to choose Pam -- that\\\\\\\'s just the only way it could happen. It just occurred to me that that Pam\\\\\\\'s attitude prior to Jim\\\\\\\'s arrival in the last scene (esp her comment about finding her own Karen) were similar to the comments Jenna Fischer made in that interview about what would happen with Jim and Pam, just as far as being philosophical about it maybe not being in the cards for them. I wonder if she was trying to throw us off? I for one will be disappointed if they come back in the fall with several months having gone by and we miss all the beginning stages of that relationship. I wouldn\\\\\\\'t want them to overdo it, but I\\\\\\\'d like to see at least some of it. After all this waiting, they owe us, don\\\\\\\'t they? Also, though the new haircut looked great on John Krasinski, it wasn\\\\\\\'t Jim at all-- I hope he has his little flippy curls backa again next season :-)

Thanks Katy - I didn\\\'t even connect that Ryan would be Michael\\\'s boss. HA! I had a feeling that the job opening at corporate would be Jan\\\'s old job. But, I thought she might have quit & then went on vacation - didn\\\'t expect her to get a boob job! So now she\\\'ll be waiting at the condo for Michael in stretch pants. Great episode all around. Loved Pam. I actually cried at the end - both times I watched it. ps. Please Matt & Ian, more retro episodes. Please.
-
Matt, I agree. I think it\'s much, much funnier to imagine Creed \'blogging\' into a Word document. And I have to add, Fancy New Beesly made me so giddy at the end of this episode. I was decidedly in Camp Karen all year but her reaction to Jim made me go all schoolgirl.
-
I like Gary\'s comment above: \" We know that Ryan was offered a job in corporate... we don\'t know for sure if it was Jan\'s job! For all we know Ryan will be the new Hunter to Karen\'s Jan.\" I can\'t picture Ryan being Michael\'s boss, but it could work ...
-
I know I already put it in the other thread, but I thought this was too good to pass up. Creed Thoughts! And if you pause the episode when he\'s typing his blog - it\'s the same as what\'s posted here... Almost as good as Dwight\'s sex-offender hotline! http://blog.nbc.com/CreedThoughts/2007/05/13-week/

What a great episode! I can\'t wait for the podcast to relive it in minute detail. I\'m happy they picked Ryan. I think that will bring a whole new dimension that most of us hadn\'t yet considered. Ryan as Michael\'s boss will be interesting. I don\'t know if he\'ll be a prick or just endlessly frustrated but I can\'t imagine Michael\'s going to take it well considering how he tends to think of Ryan as his protege.
-
So that is what it looks like when a dying star collapses in on itself…..be afraid Michael, be very afraid. Stanley nickels had me on-the-floor! I liked that the CFO acknowledged that Michael does show some competence at his current job, by keeping all their customers after the merger. It also does fit reality that the journeyman would get passed over for the kid with a new degree who has never made a sale. Dwight with power was scary, but Ryan is going to be an absolute pr*ck. Every single second of Pam was fantastic. I was so psyched she stood her ground in her apology to Karen, her collusion with Dwight was great and I just loved her spontaneous reaction to Jan’s chesticle upgrade. Confidence looks fabulous on Miss Beasley, she just sparkled throughout. Welcome back Jim, we’ve missed you! Kudohs to the writers, I fell for the Jan is pregnant and Karen gets the job theorizing and never saw the real reveals coming. All that and Martin’s heart grew 3 sizes that day!
-
No one saw that ending coming! Ryan telling Kelly they were over was hysterical! We know that Ryan was offered a job in corporate... we don\'t know for sure if it was Jan\'s job! For all we know Ryan will be the new Hunter to Karen\'s Jan. On a side note, I\'m really going to miss these podcasts now that the season has ended. I really look forward to your new podcasts each week at work. Definitely the bright spot of my otherwise dark work week!
