Hey guys! I left you your only comment on the UK itunes and just wanted to say that I love the podcast. It\\\'s tough being a Brit who likes the American version of a beloved show more than the home grown original, but its great to listen to \\\'thats what she said\\\' and disect the epsiodes. Question! Do you know what countries people are listening in? I think it\\\'d be interesting to find out. Great job guys!

I want to agree with Nomi and her comment way up there at the top. you guys don\'t decimate the comedy at all. i wasn\'t a huge fan of this episode, but the podcast made me appreciate it a lot more. and this isn\'t the first time thats happened either. so thank you for that. The reason i love the podcast so much is because you guys point out stuff that i don\'t catch (even on second and third viewings).

Thank you guys for putting the image of Creed Bratton \"hanging brains\" in my head! Man, that\'s disturbing! Ah, Northern Exposure... one of my all-time favorite shows (even if it did go on a couple seasons too long). I think it would be interesting if NBC did some kind of regular super-sized Thursday night, where they ran 3 shows in a 2 hour slot, like they are doing with these special episodes. I can\'t actually see them ever doing it tho - seems like it would cause too much confusion with viewers to have shows starting at 35 or 40 past the hour on a regular basis. OK, so if you just wanted to enjoy the show while it\'s on and not analyze it, WHY WOULD YOU LISTEN TO A PODCAST ABOUT IT??? By it\'s very nature, a podcast about a show is there TO analyze it, right? I love reliving the show with you guys and hearing your take on it, and it\'s even more fun when you can throw in some sort of literary references. Keep up the good work!

Kevin said: \\\"I am constantly amazed at Matt and Ian\\\'s ability to summarize the show and keep the discussion moving along. The clips help, sure... but the organization of the story lines is impressive. You guys deserve a lot of credit.\\\" Ditto. Even the way you edit the clips, Matt, is impressive to me. I wouldn\\\'t know where to start with all that.

I\'m pretty sure \"Undeclared\" was only a half-hour long. If \"Freaks and Geeks\" could be considered a comedy, then \"Northern Exposure\" counts too. Actually, I remember the year that it won the Emmy for best drama, the producer accepting the award said \"we\'re not a drama\" in his speech, which was certainly true. I don\'t know how I feel about The Office going to an hour -- I guess I\'m concerned about seeing the not-that-great deleted scenes that would normally be left on the website used to pad the regular episodes.

I don\\\'t have a lot to add, except to say I am constantly amazed at Matt and Ian\\\'s ability to summarize the show and keep the discussion moving along. The clips help, sure... but the organization of the storylines is impressive. You guys deserve a lot of credit. I am of the opinion that this nickname thing has gotten WAY out of control. JAM and Dwangelea are okay. But let\\\'s not stop the madness already (\\\"Man\\\"? Puh-lease). Northern Exposure surely would have been Emmy nominated now in the Comedy category (like Desperate Housewives). But, back in the day, \\\"comedy\\\" meant 30 minutes \\\"filmed in front of a studio audience\\\" and \\\"drama\\\" meant anything else. How times have changed! And, yes, the hanging brains discussion was pretty hilarious! For those who say the podcast is treating the show like Shakespeare... have you been on the internet lately? There are folks treating a whole lot of things with considerably more attention to detail than the guys on the podcast.

Wow. That was just. . . WOW. After the definition of \"hanging brains\" I kinda feel like I\'ve been flashed. . . :) I agree with Nomi -- no matter what, my enjoyment of the episodes ALWAYS improve after listening to your podcasts. I\'m already excited for the podcast after the season finale! I listened to the podcast while at work today so I was unable to write down thoughts I had. Just, well done, as usual.

Ian, in response to your mention of \'Freaks and Geeks\', besides being a great show, it also featured Rashida Jones playing a character named Karen Scarfoli; So she currently has two Italians named Karen under her acting belt. And while im on the subject, Jenna Fischer was also on \'Undeclared\' Feig\'s follow up comedy to F&G, and yet another brilliant hour long comedy.

Awesome \\\"outro,\\\" awesome podcast! I\\\'m going to miss you guys this summer. Regarding romantic nicknames, I\\\'ve also heard \\\"JaMichael,\\\" because Jan and Michael went to Jamaica, mon! Jan looked absolutely giddy when she saw that the message was from Michael. It was heartbreaking to see her face fall when she realized what was going on.

great podcast guys firstly, I didn\\\'t know what \\\"hanging brain\\\" meant etheir until you so elequently explained it Matt. And ouch, the office goin up against csi and grey\\\'s? I also feel your evny for the girl\\\'s bathroom Matt. At my school the girl\\\'s bathroom in the cafeteria has a couch and it is double the size of the boys. Whereas the boys\\\' bathroom is comparable to like wendy\\\'s or mcdonalds lavatory. That flash gordon piece was great. Ian, you really nailed that high note at the end. BTW: NBC put up a second round of that office quotes game. I actualy did worse on this one than on the first one!...I wish it was muiltiple choice so badly!

Good podcast, guys. Thanks for looking up \\\"hanging brain\\\" -- I am a 37-year-old housewife so perhaps I\\\'m not exactly on the cutting edge of slang but I will say I don\\\'t think it\\\'s a California thing :-) I totally thought about that one episode of Seinfeld (\\\"It?\\\" \\\"It.\\\" \\\"Out?\\\" \\\"Out.\\\") when Phyllis described her flashing experience. That\\\'s one of my very favorite Seinfeld quotes. I cracked up when you said maybe you guys like to analyze the episodes so much because you were both English majors -- me too, so maybe that\\\'s why I like the podcast? Anyway, just think how irritated that emailer who told you to just relax and enjoy the show will get if The Office really does go to an hour long next season -- how crazy long will the podcasts be then? ;-)
-
Oh, and I agree with Ian that Jim wasn\'t being a dick in his exchange with Ryan -- I mean, Ryan was emailing Jim\'s girlfriend about possibly hooking up. Even if Ryan really did think Jim and Karen were just having a casual thing, isn\'t there something in the guy code that you at least wait until the casual hook-up thing is done before you move in?

As far as the show moving to an hour-long goes, I think it could be a great move. The only problem for having more side characters, is that we may get too much. We can all agree that we have gotten too much creed in the past three episodes. How the show could expand successfully by adding more of the drama and become a full fledged \\\"Dramedy\\\". One show that did this successfully, although didn\\\'t get any ratings, is Freaks And Geeks. The only difference is that The Office has enough of a fanbase that it could succeed as an hour long show.

I just want to comment on the men\\\'s room vs. the woman\\\'s room plot. I worked at a gym that was owned by two women. And the woman\\\'s locker room looked like a hotel lobby compared to the crap hole men\\\'s locker room! It was cleaner, brighter, better maintained, had a couch, plants, smelled better... the men\\\'s locker room looked like a dump and all of the lockers looked like they bought them used. They were all rusted and nasty. So sometimes after we were closed and I had to drop the kids off at the pool, I\\\'d use the ladies locker room. It\\\'s the difference between using the batroom in a fancy hotel vs. a filthy gas station.

OK. I\'m falling asleep, but I must say: You guys do not decimate the comedy! Hell no. In fact, for me, this episode of the podcast made \"Women\'s Appreciation\" funnier for me. Yes. I watched it twice and still my negative reaction had risen no further than ho-hum at best. But then somehow you guys made it all funnier. Kind of like a movie trailer, maybe, where they can make any movie look good for 60 seconds? No, but really, I don\'t know if I\'d laugh more if I actually watched it again, but I did laugh during the podcast. BUT, I gotta say, for me the bit with your description of \"hanging brains\" was funnier than anything in the episode. Holy Cow. And, since I didn\'t know what the heck Creed was saying, I had no idea that he didn\'t get what flashing is. Implausible, but whatever. Maybe your next venture could be a podcast in which you simply define crude slang for sexual or scatological things: Matt: \"Say, Ian, do you know what a happy trail is\"? Ian: \"Why, Matt, I\'ve got the urban dictionary definition right in front of me. Are you ready\"? I only recently came into contact with that one myself. Am I going to get a demerit for this?
