d: Greg Daniels w: Robert Padnick
Michael and Holly's public displays of affection start to make everyone in the office uncomfortable. Jim and Pam have too much champagne during lunch, causing complications when they have to return to work. Andy tags along on a romantic treasure hunt Gabe has made for Erin. ----- Speak of the devil and he appears! Kevin was wondering if Greg Daniels would rear his head now that Michael is on the way out, and here he is. Will the office "OG" bring back some of the missing magic, or will virgin writer Padnick queer the deal? According to IMDB, this is Padnick's first and ONLY writing credit... but he apparently played someone named "Willie" on the 8th season episode of SEINFELD, "The Foundation." Odd. As always, post your thoughts and comments on the episode in the space below. Also, join Kevin and me in the TWSS Chatroom during and after the show tonight. Just hit the green "Chat Now" button in the sidebar on the right.

Hey Matt and Kevin. Just wanted to say that I stumbled upon your podcast on iTunes around Christmas time and since then I've been able to listen to about 30 shows. With a background in English, I can appreciate the intelligent breakdown of each episode. It's great to be able to go back to the good old days and get a breakdown of my favorite episodes, before the show started to decline. It's a shame man. Love the show. Oh, and GET CAUGHT UP :)

All i could think about when Gabe blew that kiss was, "The temp at night. The temp at night. The temp at night..." Gabe is starting to turn in to a really weird, creepy, and poorly written character. Does Gabe look like he loves sexual touching more than anyone. And ecstasy? I'll admit it looked like Jim and Pam were on it but come on!

The only thing I'm getting from the recent episodes is that the writers are trying to ease the uninformed audiance into the surprise that Steve will be leaving the show. Perhaps by making him the most annoying creature ever created by any authors pen, which they came VERY close to with this episode. I'm finding this very hard to weather, as I was a big fan of Michael in the past, always thought he was the best character in the series. Which explains my distain for Holly, as Michael is NOT an enjoyable character with Holly present. The rest of The Office cast seem to become more and more lovable with each passing episode. I laughed out loud when Andy pissed off Stanley by doing his puzzle. Drunk Jim and Pam were... interesting, heh. Ryans sleeze knows no bounds. I suppose what I'm getting at is, I'm eager for Michael to just leave the show, lets get on with the character evolution that must take place in the future concerning the rest of the cast.

I loved the physical acting between Carrel and Ryan in this one--it was totally, hilariously creeptastic! Happy Michael always works for me, too. I also liked that while the office was rightly disgusted, they maintained that they were happy for Michael/Holly, which felt much less mean than in earlier episodes. Seriously, though, does Erin have to be so unbelievably stupid? The whole "there's no clue" thing, brief as it was, was painful. Please keep up the podcast, guys, it's unbelievably entertaining!

Wow, is it just me or was everyone drunk in this episode. Maybe it was just the writers though... No one was really written how they normally are or ever should be written. It seemed like a whole episode of parallel characters. I did quite enjoy the Jim and Pam plotline though and the Michael Holly thing was a little... Nauseating

So based on this and past episodes, are we to think that the only way Jim can now be interesting is when he is drunk and horny? Also, we know Holly is goofy like Michael, but is she as stupid as Michael too? I mean, how can she NOT be aware of the insane amount of PDA they were engaging in?! (By the way, can we start calling the couple Molly now?) And feces-throwing monkey-Kevin...a little too out there for my tastes. These little minor issues aside, I actually enjoyed this episode. Maybe it's simply because it brought back memories of when my fiancee and I met several years ago when we worked together. I don't think we were nearly as PDA-prone as Molly, as we made a concerted effort to keep all of that after hours...or at least in hidden places.

Still thinking about this one. All the PDA was pretty disgusting to watch - it was way beyond cute. But there is a clear path now about what the characters are going to do when Holly moves back to Nashua. Michael Gary Scott is going to be leaving Scranton - if that doesn't happen and Holly/Michael end, I will be shocked. Monkey Kevin, loved it. He is one charming guy. :)

It seems to me that Holly is not written well. I for one can't buy her sudden abandon of all office propriety and professionalism. Isn't she the HR person, for heaven's sake? Maybe I can accept her newfound clarity that she loves Michael, but the Holly of this episode was strangely vacant, and like Michael, I'm not sure I can trust her change of heart..

Well besides the kind of depressing Cold open with Darryl crying, I found this episode to be laugh out loud.I love it when Kevin and Oscar interact on the show, and love it when Creed says the weirdest things. By the way I very much enjoyed the chatroom with Matt, and can't wait for next week.
