A little late in posting my reaction, but when I saw the little blue "1" on the That's What She Said podcast picture that's remained stagnant for too long FINALLY appear in my itunes I squealed and clapped like a too dorky for Danny Cordray Pam. YAY! Listening to you guys commenting on these post-Michael, subpar episodes makes them worth watching for me and reinvigorates my interest in the show. THANK YOU for coming back and please keep it up. We're listening!!!

So far, I'm enjoying this season more than I expected to. I agree that it's not the show it used to be, but I'm more amused at many parts of the first 2 episodes than I was for the majority of the last couple of seasons. Even though I miss Steve Carell's presence and the stories could easily be Michael Scott scripts instead, I did find the payoff pretty satisfying and I think it was a lot different from how Michael would have handled it. It's enough to keep me interested for now. I certainly agree with my fellow "Parks and Rec" fans here that is the superior show. I think it has really hit its stride this season (and last season too) and has become, at least to me, the funniest show on TV right now.

This was an episode that got much better in the second half after an abysmal cold open (agree with brett completely about Kevin). My worry is, is that next episode the office will go back to its quiet self with everyone doing their job as they have been doing for the last 7 seasons. Or, will they continue to work like this? looking forward to hearing your opinions

Hello. This comment is actually related to your podcast (#122). With the whole Jordan storyline, there was a deleted scene (http://www.hulu.com/watch/241716/the-office-nosy-assistant) where they showed that she was starting to develop a crush for Jim. I think that's where they were going with that character; to kind of create an 'obstacle' in the Jim and Pam relationship. Also with the whole Andy thing where it seemed like they half assed it and chose Andy instead of one of the interviewees. There was an interview with Paul Liebertstein (http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/2011/09/the_office_showrunner_paul_lie.html) where that issue is addressed.

First things first; I thought the cold open was probably the worst in series history. Kevin has become a complete caricature of himself, and he has morphed into this sort of mentally retarded character. The episode started off very slowly, with more swing and miss jokes than the Red Sox in September. The B and C plots were so dull and had absolutely no payoffs. The part that really, really bothered me was the idea that the office could accrue 5,000 points by the end of the day. What the hell? They all bitch and moan that they can't possibly increase their numbers without getting new leads or exploring a new territory, but yet at the end of Andy's meeting it looks like the freaking New York Stock Exchange...a seen unlike any other office episode I've ever seen. Where were they supposed to get these new leads? If I EVER see Stanley act like that again I swear to God I am done. I thought Andy's redemptive moment was a decent payoff, but at this point in the series, I'm just grasping at straws looking for any speckle of emotional response. Parks and Rec on the other hand, their second episode of the season was absolutely and unequivocally superior in every aspect. What a hilarious episode. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this episode. Thanks guys.

This really felt like a storyline that could have easily been Michaels back in the daythe boss asks for a lot, the manager promises way more than he can give, he tries to talk everyone into it, and they call his bluff. But, Andy resolved things much differently than Michael would have. Also, neat to see what the Scranton branch looks like at full productivity. Ever seen that before? Will we ever see it again? Great episode!

Pretty good episode! Cold open was just truly awful, but it really picked up after that. Pretty realistic storyline, and I always like seeing stuff actually take place in the office. Good redemption arc for Andy. It just felt too Michael. So far it seems like theyre having trouble differentiating the storylines for Michael and Andy. Im sure itll take time to really get a feel for Andy The Boss though. All around, I dug it!

After the absolute abomination that was the cold open, i was seriously considering stopping watching the office, after the 'hi dad' gag from andy i nearly stopped there and then. However, during the second half of the episode with the working office, and the pay-off with the tattoo, I saw the potential that this season has. But Matt and Kevin, do you think they will continue with everyone working their arses off to get that double sales growth or will next episode be the same usual quiet office? By the way, what was the point of the daryll plotline?

Angela almost had me convinced that her "ethical dilemma" was something more directly related to her closeted husband. I hope this doesn't drag on for too long, as it's rather painful to watch...more painful than watching Andy get a tattoo, though to a satisfying NardDog effect. On a separate note, I remembered the chatroom and tried to go there shortly before the episode ended and found that it was virtually empty. I also don't recall the two of you pimping it during the last podcast episode. So has the during-episode chatroom activity being discontinued? Is this an indication of how poor of a start this season has gotten off to?

Glad this episode was a lot better than The List, also Andy may actually bring new boss aspects to the show. Michael and him have very similar characteristics, but Michael would never go through with the tattoo. Glad the office took the prank in a better direction.
