Well, here we go again! Season six is upon us, and if you're like me, you've stayed away from ALL of the promo clips and other information on tonight's season premiere. From NBC.com:
GOSSIP | 09.17.09 | 9/8c PT | TV-PG
MICHAEL
GETS CAUGHT UP IN OFFICE GOSSIP - Michael (Steve Carell) feels left out
as the rest of the office gossips about the summer interns. While
Michael searches for the next juicy rumor to share, Andy (Ed Helms)
struggles with heterosexuality. Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna
Fischer, Brian Baumgartner, Leslie David Baker, Kate Flannery, Mindy
Kaling, Angela Kinsey, Phyllis Smith, Oscar Nuñez, Creed Bratton, Paul
Lieberstein, B.J. Novak and Ellie Kemper also star.
-------------------- Both Kevin and I were pretty skeptical about this JAM-bino plot in the finale, so I am really curious to see how that whole thing plays out this season. Is it too much to ask that the writers knock the first pitch of the season out of the park? As always, leave your comments below, and join Kevin and me in the TWSS Chatroom during and after the episode airs.

BTW, did everybody in the country get that weird ad, the one with the little Asian dude hiding behind the fridge door and surprising an Erin look alike? I wasn\'t watching too closely and it freaked me out momentarily.. Is this what they mean by including advertisers earlier in the creative process? Yipes!

Glad to finally see an episode where there is a single plot that we follow and not multiple plots (Last year Weight Lods had at least 5 plots :P). Each character got a little like angela\'s remark on Pam\'s baby and Ryan yelling \"Don\'t get it vaccinated!\" :) . Michael was also great and the interns were also a nice mix into things. Although Stanley smashing the car could be a little over the top but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Great season opener and I can\'t wait for the next episode. :)

I thought this episode was great! I did have one thing that was kind of off for me when they called Andy gay. If I remember correctly in Stress Relief last season when Michael comes back into the office after the roast he said to Andy that he was even gayer than Oscar. I just don\'t know why he freaked out so much this time but not the last time he was called gay.

Some tasty tidbits in an otherwise distasteful stew. Pros: Creed, Stanley\'s best work since \"Did I stutter?\" and a gorgeously filmed talking head with Jim and Pam. I thought the rumours overall were okay but not unusually imaginative; give Matt and Kevin.a six pack and a coupla minutes and I\'ll bet they could come up with better. Which. Leads me to two major negatives: First, if consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds, wboeecer wrote this episode is a freaking Einstein. People tell Dwight things? Really? Is that why he dragged the water cooler over to his desk? And Michae! This CANNOT be the same man who so decisively outmaneuvered David Wallace in \"Broke\"? Overall I found Michael so detestable, so idiotic, so exaggeratedly childish, it got in the way of this episode\'s charms. How could anybody so gratuitously enjoy trashing a colleague the way Michael did with Stanley? It\'s particularly sad that this was the season opener, when you\'d most expect néw people to give the show a try. The friends I tried to recruit had one principal response: \"Why would anyone work for that a--hole?\" that\'s not the way to expand the tribe...

I think Ryan was offered the temp job back in \"Casual Friday\" when Michael chose Pam for the salesperson position, and I\'m pretty sure he took it since he\'s in the office during \"Cafe Disco.\" Parks and Recreation dealt with gay marriage. Then The Office came in with...I don\'t know what term to use...gay-identity crisis? Anyway, I thought it was a little odd the way these episodes aired on the same night. I wonder if that was planned. Overall, \'myeh\' season opener, \'ok\' episode in general.

Wow, PARKOR! Well that episode was a waste of time. I have seen this episode 5 times now. And it left me with a bad taste in my mouth. They barely addressed anything. I didn\'t hate it but my expectations were not met. I just can\'t wait for the next episode. -Theapplebook -AKA (Hopeless Optimist)

I laughed out loud @ Stanley, too. Mostly because that\'s the most we\'ve seen him move in 5 seasons. I also laughed at Michael calling Stanley\'s wife Cynthia. He had actually come up with a good idea in saying he wanted her help in decorating his condo. I don\'t know why on earth I thought he would be able to implement it. He is such a horrible liar. That\'s been proven over and over again. Oh, I still love that man. I think Oscar received an ALMA tonight. I saw a pic of him holding an award. Maybe it was for the show.

New season kicks off with a good cold open, certainly not the best but it\'s in the top 75%. It was nice to see Elvy Yost return, a call back to a deleted scene from season 4, I wonder how many others caught that. I also enjoyed smart/clever Michael, he figured out Stanley\'s dirty little secret, as well as figuring out a realistic, practical, and believable way to people from believing it. The Andy plot line was a bit much, they should have had Andy wonder why people think he\'s gay and spend the episode over compensating, such as throwing away his multicolored paper clips because using them makes him look gay. It was nice to laugh out loud at a Creed talking head and a Toby joke, while the Stanley was decent enough, I think it would have been funnier as a Ryan/Kelly plot from seasons past. Possibly as part of Ryan\'s 12 steps, he was to make up for/confess past sins. I would have also prefered Stanley yelling at Michael (stanley is hilarious when he yells), not breaking his windows, which is a very unStanley like thing to do. Overall I like this episode alot, but it felt more like a decent midseason episode, or possibly the first episode after the winter break, I give this episode a B+ but for a premier it\'s more like a C

I thought the cold open was lol-tastic! My dad called it, though when Andy went all the way in the box. I laughed at the rumors, that was good thinking on Michael\'s part. The whole conversation between Andy and Oscar was funny/uncomfortable/wierd and made me laugh. Biggest moment for me was when Jim put the jambino pic in his frame and the look from Pam.

Not my favorite episode, but a good one none the less, i liked certain parts, no laugh out loud moments though, which was weird. It gave the episode a low-key feel. I don\\\'t not like it, but it seemed just a little off key from the rest of the seasons, just something was off.
-
I enjoyed the episode, it was a low-key way to ease into the season. Not spectacular, but funny enough to make me realise how much I missed it during the break. I still do not care about the \'jambino\' but liked how they used it in a plot-relevant way. Oh and I must have missed something last season, I thought Ryan didn\'t get re-hired? Is he back as a temp?
-
I really enjoyed this episode, I thought it was a good way to start the season. However I hope they address Michael ruining Stanley\'s marrige in future episodes, I\'m going to be annoyed if everyone acts like nothing happened, it\'ll be a great laugh out loud moment if here in a couple weeks we see Michael pull into work with his car all duct taped up. On the downside though I got my girlfriend into watching The Office and she kept saying Michael was an asshole, and I kept defending him based on the end of Season 5, she finally accepted that ultimatly he\'s a good guy, until last night, unfortuntly I\'m going to have to agree. Oh and the two best lines of this episode were \"How am I a virgin? I have a daughter\" and \"Look, that\'s the inside of your vagina\". I look forward to the podcast guys, keep up the good work.
-
I thought this was a great episode. Maybe not the best season opener, but still funny and the look Pam gave Jim at the end was so sweet and endearing. As Matt says, it got a little dusty in here. Excited for the new season, and dare I say, just as excited if not more for new podcasts!
-
So help me God they better address the issue or I\'m gonna swear off this season altogether! Okay, so that might be a bit much, but if they leave us hangin\' after all this time that\'s just wrong! Can\'t wait! For the show AND the postcast aka the \"after party!\" ;)
