Episode # 86 of THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID finds both Matt and Kevin trying to keep the TWSS in TWSSmas. Get a room, Santas! When Phyllis uslurps Michael's rightful place as the office's designated gift-giver, it's up to a hurt, petulant Jesus to... well... sabotage pretty much everything. Andy decides to treat Erin to the twelve days of Christmas, but will he own up or lay low when things don't quite go as planned? Pam tries to hook Oscar up with the only OTHER gay guy she knows, Madge from the warehouse gets some character development, Angela thinks scientifically about number two, and Dwight ponders the purpose of his secret Santa gift. Oh, and Dunder Mifflin is going out of business. Just another typical Christmas party, all told. Incidental music provided by the Podshow Podsafe Music Network. At a whopping hour and a half, you\'d think there might be a little flab in the podcast....but there isn\'t. The usual brilliant analysis made even more enjoyable by the ebullient spirits of Matt and Kevin. A couple of points: I think that every sitcom on television would be made better by scrapping the laugh track and having M & K giggling in the background. Even the few scenes in the show I found annoying - e.g. when Michael makes the snarky comments into the microphone about the gifts, when I wanted to take the microphone and club him with it - was made amusing in the podcast with Matt and Kevin giggling in the background. Their interaction is one of the really bright points of the podcast, week in and week out. Another point: in my original review on iTunes, I commented on how much I like the subtle literary references in Matt\'s analysis. The Secret Santa podcast is a perfect example. Chastised by my thought that Matt\'s idiot voice a couple of weeks ago was a reference to the abominable snowman in the old Bugs Bunny cartoons - when in fact it was a reference to \'Of Mice And Men\' - my ears perked up when Matt mentioned the phrase \'put aside his childish things.\' This phrase has a rich history, both recent and ancient. Most recently, President Obama mentioned it in his inaugural address: \"We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture, the time has come to set aside childish things.\" I had also remembered hearing the phrase in a letter President John Kennedy sent his father; sure enough, I found the note on-line. JFK sent his dad a note from camp asking for a thirty cent allowance increase, stating: ‘My recent allowance is 40 cents. This I used for areoplanes [sic] and other playthings of childhood. But now I am a scout and I put away my childish things.\' (The note is pretty cool; you can find it at http://usscouts.org/history/jfkletter.asp). Well before that, the Bible states in 1 Corinthians 13:11 “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.” The long and the short of it is that TWSS works on so many levels; there\'s nothing jejune about it. Hope I spelled that right... ;)

I wrote last week how much I disliked the episode. But after listening to the podcast, I went back and watched the episode twice and loved it!! Especially, because of \"h-e-l-l, double hockey sticks. You\'re going to hell, Stanley.\" Truly a LOL moment. Thanks guys for making me go back and watch this episode! BTW, y\'all might have answered this before, but how do you record the podcast if Matt is in the midwest and Kevin is on the west coast? It definitely sounds like you are together.

I think the Producer\'s Cut was a better episode than the \"original\". The blue collars vs. white collars aspect should have been more clear in the version that was aired. I just don\'t understand how such a small branch has a Christmas Party for its office staff and does not include the warehouse workers.
