Glamis thou art, and Cawdor; and shalt be
What thou art promised. Yet do I fear thy nature; It is too full o' the milk of human kindness To catch the nearest way... I taught the play MACBETH for years to advanced high school juniors, and "The Coup" plays out a similar 'tragedy' in modern-day Scranton, PA (is that anywhere near Scotland, PA?). In any event, when Michael drops the ball with Jan yet again (and really, is 30 minutes a week really such a terrible thing?), Lady MacAngela accosts Dwight and convinces him to make a play for Michael's job. Needless to say, it doesn't go well for anyone. Dwight, Dwight, Dwight... why on earth do you have such intimate knowledge of Jan's personal shopping habits? Why did you order all of that food? And why didn't you bring your D.W.I.G.H.T. (Determined, Worker, Intense, Good worker, Hard worker, Terrific) sign with you? Give Michael credit for being more clever than I thought possible... he let Dwight dig himself deeper and deeper into a hole from which the D-man could not escape. Holy crap, that drool on his face when he stood up was priceless. Lessons learned? Don't @#$% with a man's Sebring. Creed is icky. Never invite Jim Halpert to your LAN party. And remember to always-- ALWAYS-- hug it out, b!tch.* *CAUTION: do not use with female co-workers.

I enjoyed this episode, but I thought the Dwight stuff was kind of over done. I like Dwight in smaller doses, or at least with Jim there to counterbalance his manic-ness. Anyway, I laughed quite a bit during this episode, especially when Michael was on screen - but after it was over, it was feeling kind of lacking. They didn\\\'t address anything from the previous episode, and didn\\\'t progress the Jim/Pam storyline AT ALL! Come on now, there needs to be a payoff from the previous 28 episodes of building up the Jim/Pam angle, Scranton just isn\\\'t the same without John Krazinski.
