This episode is definitely an interesting one to watch-- you can almost see the hamster turning the wheels inside Michael's head.
Surely Michael doesn't really CARE that Ed Truck, his old boss, is dead. I mean, he told us in "The Carpet" that he was the worst boss ever, and that turning into Ed was his "greatest fear" (Creed: "You should have much bigger fears than that"). So why does Michael go so bat$#!t in this episode? Simple. If no one cares about Ed's death, then no one will care about MICHAEL's death either, and that's just too much for him to deal with. The Answer? Force everyone in the office to feel depressed in a futile hope it will carry over when Michael goes on to the afterlife. Good luck, Michael. Some unanswered questions:

I didn\'t catch the \"reburied\" comment until the second time I watched the episode.... sooo funny!!! I always wondered how Dwight got the tux... I mean, did they take it off in the hearse on the way from the funeral to the interment??? Well, mystery solved... at some point they dug him up and reburied in an oil drum. Wonder if we\'ll find out anymore at the beet farm??? I also noticed that Angela had some great moments when Pam was giving her bird eulogy... she was on the verge of rolling her eyes and then gave the very curt \"Amen\" to cut Pam off. I loved that Ryan got some funny moments this episode... the whole Mufasa thing... and then the look on his face at the bird funeral when Kelly was hanging on to him... priceless!!! But my favorite had to be Jenna\'s performance... she was awesome!!!

I felt during the bird funeral that something was missing and his name is Jim. I\'m not feeling the Karen-Jim relationship. I think she likes him a lot more than he likes her. At least that\'s the way I saw it in The Coup. But she was perplexed by him in Gay Witch Hunt and just seemed annoyed by him in Grief Counseling. Love your podcast by the way and this is coming from a person who hates podcasts. P.S. If speaking French and playing video games is attractive, I am so Jim\'s girl.

This one definitely wasn\'t my favorite episode. I think it was probably one of the weakest of the season, next to Gay Witch Hunt. I just don\'t think it had that special Office kick to it. And searching for the potato chips? I thought that was a bit labored and too drawn out. Although Karen speaking French...how cool (and admittedly attractive) is that? But yeah, it definitely ranks as one of the lowest episodes this season. The Coup remains my favorite. :D Thanks once again for a great podcast!

I thought this was by far the best episode this season - could only be better if Jim was back in Scranton. Some of the things I thought about: 1. Pam taking on Jim\'s role in Scranton, in both antagonizing and comforting Michael. Jenna Fischer was amazing this episode. 2. Jim trying to turn Stamford into Scranton, I thought he was really obviously trying to recreate his relationship with Pam (Karen) and Dwight (Andy). Maybe this will work for now, but I see everything changing when they merge and he goes back to Scranton and sees Pam for the first time. 3. Steve Carell and Jenna Fischer were just amazing this episode... so many funny parts, and it was refreshing to see the Pam character start to come out of her shell with Jim gone.

I\\\'ve finally caught up on the podcast and I\\\'m loving the depth you\\\'re getting into on each episode. As far as \\\"Grief Counseling\\\" goes, the one criticism I have is the dwelling on Michael\\\'s extreme lonliness. The writers do put in little parts (such as the Hammermill deal in \\\"The Convention\\\") which build him up, but for the most part he\\\'s becoming too pathetic in my opinion. I\\\'m fine with the relationship that\\\'s being built up between Jim and Karen, in the expectation of Pam finding out about it. I was also suprised to see \\\"Big Tuna\\\" has some authority at the Stanford office. He\\\'s not just a salesman anymore.
