Or should that be "muckduck"? From Wikipedia: MURDER | 11.12.09 Michael's world is rocked by troubling rumors about Dunder Mifflin. He forces the office into a day of strange diversions, upsetting Jim and leading others to wonder if Michael has gone insane. Meanwhile, Andy finds that his chief obstacle in courting Erin is his own awkwardness. ----------- This description is actually so baffling that I have abslutely no guess as to what could be going on with the Michael "A" plot. Guess I'll just have to strap myself in and enjoy the ride. As always, leave your thoughts in the comments section below and join Kevin and me in the TWSS Chatroom during and after the show to share your thoughts (click on the green "chat" button in the right sidebar).

So I basically loved this episode, lots of funny stuff kinda reminded me of Cafe Disco but with just enought \"real\" plot to keep me entertained. I loved the end with Pam LOL but I was really looking forward to the whole Andy/Erin thing and it didnt turn out how I hoped:( And the whole thing with Jim now being the responsible one isnt really working for me, come on man lighten up!:D Overaly I give this a 8 out of 10:) Cant wait to hear what you guys thought about it:)

Sorry, Molly. Gotta disagree about Jim not mentioning the pregnancy since his wedding episode. Very few men in real-life offices mentino that their wives are expecting until the awkward \"um-yeah-I-gotta-be-out-a-coupla-weeks-sometime-soon\" conversation where all the women are ga-ga and asking about baby sex and nursery themes. I was on that conference call this past Thursday, hours before the ep. Men DO NOT talk about children in the workplace, so this rang true for me. Kevin Crossman is the dad on the podcast-do you agree? I don\'t know about others, but my fear in this season was that they would talk about the pregnacy too much--so glad they\'ve downplayed it but kept Pam\'s (baby) size true to real life. I thought this episode was a solid B, A-. It would have been a B- if not for the end with Jim playing along with the murder mysteries and Pam\'s finale at the end with Michael, Andy and Dwight. Being a Southerner, I normally hate when people try to affect Southern accents, but this was fabulous because they all recognized that they were inept at the accents. And how awesome have Stanley\'s gems been these last couple of weeks? \"Do I have to participate?\" Jim: \"NO\"; Cue Stanley\'s huge smile. AND, SCENE.

I thought this was a near-Perfect \"Office\" episode -- it had cringe comedy, laugh-out-loud funny comedy, an awkward romance, and an overhanging sense of dread. I agree with Ink Asylum that having a new couple to cheer on keeps things in the post-JAM world from fizzling out. I\'m loving Andy & Erin!

@ Pam not Beasley: Michael mentioned his vasectomies in the Dinner Party episode. lol Yes, he has had more than one. Solid episode for me although I didn\'t like the cold open. Dwight\'s antics have never been that funny to me. There were several funny moments , like Kevin asking Andy to do the Swedish chef, but I literally LOL when they showed Pam at the end. I kept rewinding that part. I\'ve watched the entire episode several times since last night. I wasn\'t a big fan of Andy\'s during his first season on the show. Now he is one of my favorite characters. Ed Helms has worked well with every person he has been paired with. I have been calling this episode Muckduck every since I found out the show title was Murder. lol

Solid episode, 8 of 10. In the conference room scenes I thought I was hallucinating because I caught a glimpse of a garter on Erin\'s leg. Watching it again, I realized I wasn\'t and it was really there as a prop for her character in the murder game. I\'m really beginning to like her character a lot, specially her legs. Is it just me or she\'s got the nicest set of legs in the office?

This episode was a fitting testament to my continued love for \"The Office.\" It\'s possible the whole thing benefited from lowered expectations--I mean, I had been dreading \"Murder\" even since I peeped the title a few weeks ago on Wikipedia (I don\'t even read episode descriptions beforehand). Whatever it was I loved the action from start to finish. Overall, this goes to show that Season Six may not be the unmitigated disaster I imagined. Let me explain a little bit: Around January of this year--when we were in the throes of \"Lecture Circuit\" and then \"Blood Drive\", two terribly unfunny episodes for the most part--I really felt ambivalent about the future of the show. Business picked up in a major kick-ass way with the introduction of the wacky, emotional roller-coaster that was The Michael Scott Paper Company and after its conclusion, I felt back at square one; even more so because of that f\'n pregnancy. My fears were exaggerated. This season so far certainly has given me some things to hate: namely, the Helene angle which I\'m maintaining was unforgivable because of its lapse in the continuity, its bad taste, and general unfunniness. The awesomeness of \"The Lover,\" and the fact that the writers wrapped the thing up in short order, however, saved the plot from being worst. Beyond that this season is shaping up positively. Initially, I wasn\'t sure what to make up of the co-manager route, but they\'ve pulled it off competently. Speaking of competence, I like that they\'ve made Jim and Pam incompetent. They are, after all, sort of the villains of Season Six so far and I eagerly anticipate their undeserved ascendance and sense of entitlement being pricked and deflated. I\'m loving Dwight\'s unlikely quest, and the insolvency of Dunder Mifflin presents intrigue. The show is anything but listless. \"Gossip\" was classic. \"The Meeting\" was OK. \"The Promotion\" was charming. \"Niagara\" was magical. \"Mafia\" was terrible. \"The Lover\" was awesomely classic. \"Koi Pond\" was pretty lame. \"Double Date” had to be deleted because it was unwatchable. And \"Murder\" was phenomenal. All things considered, the good stuff still overtakes the suckage.

A silly plot, but The Office needs those every once in a while so they can just be funny. \"Murder\" brought the funny, while introducing just enough of a plot point to keep us hanging. The writers have deviously avoided the sitcom pitfall of marrying your starring couple by introducing another couple that we can root for while they stumble and bumble into a relationship. What do we call them? Erandy? Andrin? Nardin? Two words: Tube City.
-
Okay, I have to admit that while last night\'s episode was rather silly, I enjoyed it. I found myself laughing way too hard at \"Tube Town\". Jim\'s face was priceless. (And the hamster was adorable.) I thought the murder mystery thing was very in character for Michael - he doesn\'t want to see anyone unhappy, so of course he\'s going to do something to cheer everyone up. And, as Jim learns, sometimes that\'s not a bad way to do things. I\'m very curious to see where the whole Dunder Mifflin bankruptcy plot goes.

I don\'t understand why there are so many negative comments about Jim/Pam/Andy transformations. I think one thing that makes The Office so likeable for me is that the characters experience growth. I would hate for the characters to stale. Then we might as well just watch reruns. Now onto my emerging fave character: The \'Nard dog. I loved his ability to distinguish between different southern drawls. And both my husband and I were so upset when he screwed up his date with Erin. OK on to my WTF Michael moment! He had a vasectomy??? Does he know that prevents him from having his 4 kids? Was this in an episode I forgot about? Did Jan make him do it? Two side notes: Unfortunately, my cousin found it too hard to deal with life and ended his on his 18th birthday by hanging himself. I took it very hard since we shared a birthday, and no one seemed to see it coming. However, I didn\'t connect it to the Halloween episode of the Office until the suicide prevention groups sent out their statement. I should thank them for opening the wound for me. If everytime I saw a mention of a suicide in any type of media brought up the death of my cousin, I might not be able to function throughout the day. I wonder if it was not the suicide prevention groups that benefitted from this episode the most. I just finished listening to last week\'s podcast, and I am one of those nice people who does not have NetFlix. I was getting increasingly unhappy with my Blockbuster through mail service, and I was just thinking about cancelling it when I heard that part of the podcast. So I just cancelled and order Netflix at www.netflix.com/twss. Thanks!

I\'m getting a sinking feeling that the season finale might wind up titled, \"The Reorganization.\" As in, Dunder Mifflin re-orgs the company, closing a few more branches (including Holly\'s), and fires a few members of The Scranton Office as well (Creed? Pam?). This would present a great reason for Holly to move back to Scranton, especially if her new boyfriend dumps her when the branch goes kaboom. Just some ideas to throw out there for ya. And I enjoyed the episode, although it felt a bit too awkward at points. You could cut the tension with a cross-bow!
-
I thought Creed was great, and the Andy/Erin plot was a little sweet, Michael\'s goofing off has finally made sense to me, I\'ve always thought of him as a guy who just doesn\'t take things seriously. He might just be a guy who is serious but like to keep others relaxed, Michael is deeper than we may have thought. Overall I did not like this episode, the terrible southern accents are to blame. Last week I predicted that Holly\'s branch would be closing, this is the 3rd mention of Holly we\'ve gotten in recent weeks, Dunder Mifflin is in trouble, which we all know means branch closings, and in addition to that Steve Carell has been public about wanting Amy Ryan on the show full time. I hope she comes back, I don\'t like being jerked around, That\'s what she said!

Jumped in the chat for the first time, had a great time chatting with everybody! Plus it gave me a chance to try out the sweet name Ganasaurus :) While I thought the overall plot was fairly weak and mostly a brush-off story, two big things happened for me: I genuinely started to care about characters\' feelings once again (poor Andy; poor Erin), and Pam came back during that final scene in a laugh-out-loud tribute to the woman we all fell in love with for several earlier seasons. Story may have been weak, but I laughed, I almost cried, and I (finally) cared again. That\'s enough for me to say I enjoyed it a lot.
-
WTF was that all about? I am left totally confused. If there is going to be some story arc about trouble at DM I think the writers could have done a much better job introducing it. A game of solve-the-murder? \'Cause that happens all the time in an office. A lot of things I am able to overlook but this is just ridiculous. So much for two managers, Jim is not turning out to be the voice of reason Michael quite often needs!
-
Anyone else ever ask themselves How did Andy, the villain of season 3 who plotted against our then beloved Dwight and went to anger management, became the heart of this show? He\'s pretty much the Jim of season 2 though even more relatable because he\'s so awkward with Erin. He\'s the everyman while Jim is now the big boss with a hot wife
-
The final scene with Pam was the best part of the entire episode. Overall, I thought the episode could have been stronger. It felt like it fizzled out in the middle with a lot of time being taken up with nonsense. Jim being the level-headed boss is just not working for me. What happened to the Jim from Office Olympics!!! I know your the boss now Jim but lighten up a little. I was glad to see him relax and give in to Michael in the end. I am looking forward to seeing where they take the Erin/Andy thing because they are both so strange. The bankruptcy storyline feels a lot like downsizing from seasons 1 & 2, but overall this is the most fun I had watching an episode since Niagara. Too bad it feels like the episode was a commercial for \"The Office Clue\".
