NBC.com STILL hasn't bothered to update their "next on" page since "The Meeting," so once again this comes from Wikipedia: NIAGARA | 10.08.09 | 9/8c (one hour) The Office travels to Niagara Falls to celebrate Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam's (Jenna Fischer) wedding. Michael (Steve Carell), Dwight (Rainn Wilson), and Andy (Ed Helms) all want to hook up with guests at the wedding and Michael and Dwight meet twins. --------- So here we are-- the culmination of five years of Jim and Pam romance. NBC is promoting this as "the happy ending," but that seems kind of bizarre to me since we still have twenty or so episodes left in the season, and who knows how many more after that. Still, OK, I get it. We all have (or HAD) a big emotional investment in these characters, and this DOES seem like it should be a big deal, but part of me feels like I am just really over this whole thing. I remember saying that at the end of season three, though, and "The Job" managed to win me back, so maybe tonight's hour long ep will make my grinchy heart grow ten sizes. What do you guys think? Are you excited for this? Have you been looking forward to it, or is it just an hour of "been there, done that"? As always, leave your thoughts in the comments section below and join Kevin and me in the TWSS Chatroom during and after the show to share your thoughts (click on the green "chat" button in the right sidebar).

@ Marionthelibrarian -- I thought nepotism was when you granted favoritism to people based on their relation to you (family or otherwise) -- Jim didn\'t hire Pam or put her in that sales position, so I don\'t think it\'s quite the same thing. Still, I wonder if the office employees will see things differently -- we\'ve already seen traces of it with Pam not getting any beans on her face because Jim didn\'t want to show favoritism, so that could have been a hint of greater problems to come. (On a different note, I\'m wondering now in regards to Jim\'s announcement and then subsequent awkward rewind...could it be that we\'re going to come full circle and have Jim slowly but surely turn into Michael? It would be a fitting end to the show in a funny sad dark way to have it end exactly where it began, only with Jim in Michael\'s shoes, and would show us this whole arc of perhaps how Michael came to be Michael. Just a thought. Back to your regularly scheduled Niagra thoughts!)

Well, I let it sink in for a few days. It didn\'t wow me at first, but after blogging about it (with some snark and disappointment), I will say that I\'ve come around to liking this long awaited wedding episode. It took a few viewings of the YouTube inspired Chris Brown wedding aisle dance to melt my cold, cold heart. (I wasn\'t a fan of that viral video...I mean - ok - it was cute for a minute, but that was it.) Watching Andy clunk his way down the aisle with a broken groin was funny. I will always love Nard Dog. I adored the scene where Jim consoles the stressed out and hormone infused Pam. Those are the moments I look for. They nailed it. A lump would form in my throat every time the soon-to-be Mrs. Halpert would do a snap shot motion to capture those funny highlights. It was lovely - a wonderful little thing between the both of them. It seems that the writers are creating situations such as Kevin\'s stinky shoes, Andy\'s scrotum, Angela\'s stick-up-the-butt annoyance to create the laughs. It doesn\'t feel organic. However, Michael slinking off with Pam\'s Mom really bugs me. In some weird way it reminded me of when he hooked up with Jan. It\'s just so wrong. It\'s with a woman that is absolutely \"do not touch\" material, a mother figure (which in a way I felt Jan represented)and just...ewww. When Pam finds out, she\'s gonna puke and puke.
-
I know everyone is in love with the whole Dwight-kick-in-the-face thing, but how has no one commented on Kevin\'s awkward attempt to copy Oscar\'s sweet dance moves and then falling into the alter?! I must have laughed for five minutes straight, so funny! Overall, this episode made me feel all gooey and happy inside, so I really have nothing to nitpick about. However, I am already dreading what Kevin and Matt will say. Come on guys, show some love!

I have to admit, as I watched the episode, I could feel the disappointment rising and rising. The end left me smiling, but now as I think about the episode as a whole, I\'m torn, and left feeling like although the dance section at the end had some happy payoff for some of the disappointment, I\'m left giving this episode a 3 out of 5. First, I feel like we were left hanging on the whole Me-Maw debacle. Yes, we find out in the end that she stayed, but there\'s no real closure to the situation. Is Michael\'s talk with her supposed to be that closure? It doesn\'t feel like it. Secondly, while Kevin\'s shoe issue is funny and a running gag about his foot issues, I feel like that time could have been put to better use in Jim manning up and dealing with the issues rather than going off drinking with Michael and Dwight and not being available for Pam with the Andy...er...situation. (And speaking of Jim being off with Michael and Dwight, that seems out of character, and I feel like there was a cut scene that might have explained that he\'d been pulled out against his will, or something. As it stands, it makes him seem like a bit of a....well, a bit of a Roy.) I loved the dancing. I thought the end was a payoff, and I loved that grumpy-upset-Pam is replaced with a happier Pam in the end, but her upset attitude for the majority of the episode left me feeling a little upset as well. I understand, I think, what the writers were going for. We see Pam had some genuine things to be upset about (her whole wedding being turned into a shotgun-looking wedding before her eyes, to say the least) but the lack of any clear resolution to the matters sort of takes the breath out of this episode\'s sails. Now, I do love the dance at the end because it signals a change in Pam\'s attitude -- she goes from getting upset that things aren\'t how she planned, to embracing the unexpected with Jim. But, I feel like the cost of getting to that point was too much. The rest of the episode disappointed.
-
I really liked Pam\'s mom from Season 2, so I was bummed when I read that the role was going to be recast for the wedding. Apparently the original actress was not available, so what can you do? To me, Pam’s original mom seems much more like Pam. So much so that I really couldn\'t see her hooking up with Michael. However, Mom #2 seems to have more of an edge. And perhaps the writers did that on purpose so that the audience could stomach Mom #2 getting with Michael. Kelly obviously got a personality transplant between Season 1 and Season 2. Perhaps they took Pam’s Mom to the same place!!! :-D

Did not like this episode after the first watch- but am loving it after 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th watchings. Once I got past all the weird stuff (kleenex shoes, inviting everyone to the rehearsal dinner, the gift of turtles, etc.) the sweet stuff really popped out. And, as a diehard Jammer I loved the sweet stuff- especially Jim\'s look at the end. I am a little nervous about how I will like the show now that they are married, so we\'ll see. Thought the dancing wedding was a nice touch to get everyone involved. Two questions though- how did the co-workers decide who\'s side to sit on? And secondly, didn\'t Michael promise everyone Friday and Monday off if they went to the wedding? I thought the message Erin left about DM being closed said something about today and Friday. I could be wrong. I better go watch it again.
-
Enjoyed the wedding even though there were not a lot of laugh-out-loud moments. As I was watching, I felt a little let down that they ran off together and danced down the aisle. That was already done on Mad About You and on YouTube. However, after I thought about it, I seemed fitting for the characters. Jim & Pam never needed friends and family to get married, but allowed everyone to celebrate with them. I think the song and cut scenes with them on the boat helped the ending.
-
BTW...did anyone notice that on the sign for the wedding rehearsal dinner -- where they misspelled Jim\'s name as \"Halpret\" -- the location for the dinner was the \"passion package room\"? How do you top that for the honeymoon? Answer: one of those Poconos resorts with the heart-shaped beds and the champagne-glass hot tubs en suite...
-
I have never downloaded an episode of \\\"The Office\\\" as quickly as I downloaded this one. I didn\\\'t think it was perfect but it had such a lot of laugh-out-loud moments that I couldn\\\'t wait... Cold open: split decision. I was completely grossed out but my husband laughed his head off. Would be interested in seeing the correlation between people who thought that cold open was funny and people who enjoy The Three Stooges, because as Dave Barry once pointed out, The Stooges are most appreciated by men and second most, by mentally deranged people. RE: the fact that Jim and Pam got married on the Canadian side...it turns out that its\\\' easier and faster to get a Canadian marriage license than a US one; you fill out an application, producea birth certificate and two forms of ID, and that\\\'s it; the marriage license is valid immediately. So I guess technically Pam and Jim could have filled out an application on the spot. Question: What\\\'s the story with Andy\\\'s pants? I watched the scene several times where he busted his move, and couldn\\\'t figure out where those damned keys must have been in order to do the damage they did; unless his keys and pockets were a foot long it\\\'s just impossible...but that was so funny, really, who cares? Jim\\\'s speech was terrific, as I think so much of the writing in this episode was; but he could have bailed himself out of the \\\"Except Pam\\\" comment by pointing out that the person who is being toasted never raises a glass. NExt time you watch a special about Queen Elizabeth, which I\\\'m sure happens frequently, ;), I\\\'m sure you\\\'ll notice that she never sings \\\"God Save THE Queen\\\" nor raises her glass when the toast is \\\"To the Queen.\\\" I thought the dancing down the aisle was so much fun I almost forgave the writers for taking a really lazy way out; I mean, if you saw the original YouTube video, you saw it all. With Pam\\\'s sister mistaking Kevin for Gil...wouldn\\\'t it have been more interesting to have it be Andy with Oscar, to follow up from \\\"Gossip\\\" where he thinks he\\\'s gay? But really, that\\\'s not much to question in an hour long episode. Vive l\\\'Office! BTW Matt: How come you\\\'re always asking for repeated annual rituals (Christmas Party, Dundees) but not weddings, of which this is only the second in six years? A therapy issue... ;)
-
Now I understand why the first couple of episodes this season were a little lacking -- the writers clearly have been directing their energies toward \"Niagara,\" and it didn\'t disappoint. All the small touches were there (loved the multiple \"Halpret\" signs as well as Erin\'s just-a-beat-too-late \"What else you got?\" while Andy\'s clearly in quite a bit of distress) even if the F, G and H plots weren\'t really very strong. Couldn\'t help but think throughout the episode that some relatively small rewrites could have made this a series finale. Other than Dwight whiffing with the hygienist, this episode seemed to leave just about every character on a high note. Perhaps the basic structure of the episode has been in place for a long time, with the various subplots patched in just to keep the show going beyond its natural story arc. The writers definitely struck an emotional tone signaling that a key part of what made us love the show so far has ended with this episode, and wherever we\'re headed now with the Jambino and beyond, I at least appreciate that this could be the last hurrah for a great series, and any future laughs will be icing on the cake.
-
I thought Jim and Pam\'s wedding episode was good, but there were some scenes that could have been way better. In my opinion the writing lacked a little bit. I wanted so badly to see the vows being performed and would have loved to seen when they were pronounced Man and Wife. Oh, well, here\'s hoping for an alternate version of the episode on the DVD. Another thought I had, maybe instead of the YouTube spoof of the \"Forever\" song, maybe they all could have danced down the aisle to the song off of Dirty Dancing, \"I Had The Time Of My Life.\" Now that would have been priceless to see, but maybe that\'s just me. Overall, this episode was a solid 8 out of 10. Left some room for improvement. And I\'ll admit I did tear up a little when Jim cut off his tie, to even out Pam\'s torn veil. Loved that part. One last note, Matt, Kevin you rock. I always look forward to your podcast and your great insights from all the episodes. Keep up the great work. And Thank you for the podcast.
-
What. The. Hell? This let down all my expectations. It was just plain disappointing. Writers- You let me down, and I can\'t forgive you. Thanks for nothing. (although I did giggle when Andy fell, and when jim cut his tie.) Let me explain, We have been watching pam and jim for five stinking years! We deserved more, we deserved a wedding that was, well funny, and an episode that touched us. We needed a wedding that beat Casino Night, and we didn\'t get it.
-
I\'m impressed that the writers were able to hold themselves from a cheesy JAM montage. I loved Jim\'s dinner speech - I was crying and then laughing at Andy crying at the same time. Also loved Andy\'s bow tie at the wedding. In fact, I think Mr. Bernard stole the episode. The torn scrotum thing was obviously over the top, but he totally pulled it off. Overall I think the writers handled this episode very well (except for the cold open. Would Pam seriously ask Phyllis to change her SOAP? Come on.)
-
I must admit the ending was adorable. The whole thing being based on a viral video from youtube...I wouldn\'t expect anything less from Michael Scott. It beats having to listen to boring vows between Jim and Pam. I think the writers were smart in not having the whole episode be all about Jim and Pam and their love. :: eyeroll :: I was thankful that the focus wasn\'t entirely on them because some people might not be aware of this, but not all viewers are Jim and Pam fans. I know, shocking! And the cold open was disgusting!
-
Except for the fact that this had the worst, most disgusting cold open of all time, I am in love with this episode. At first the speeches were so painfully awkward that I didn\'t know if I was going to enjoy this episode, but I felt like the wedding was very rewarding. It made waiting five seasons for Pam and Jim to get married totally worth it.
-
I can\'t believe I\'m going to say this, \"Parks and Recreation\" was funnier than \"the office\" this week. The cold open was funny after Pam threw up, if it had ended there comedy gold, but they pushed it too far and it was gross for gross sake. Kevin\'s toupee seemed like a funny idea, but the missing shoes put it over the top, mental pictures was cute, Andy in the honeymoon suit was the only laugh of the night. Michael needed a room could have been funny, if he did end up with Toby, that would have been genius. Stanley\'s new woman could have been funny if only someone other than fans mentioned that it wasn\'t his wife. The Oscar/Kevin pairing could have been funny but it came across a little too mean, I don\'t like to think of Oscar as being that mean, I think we also see Kevin with Oscar alot. Andy hurting himself dancing was about as funny as \"America\'s funniest home videos\", Maybe Bob Saget could have been the priest. I don\'t watch many you tube videos so I don\'t get really get the joke with the song. Many of us have been saying that Pam and Jim should elope and I think it could have been better if they just did. The real wedding was far better than the church one, Yes it was sweet, yes I cried, it just wasn\'t funny. I usually wait for the DVD for deleted scenes, it gives me something to look forward to, but I think I\'m going to watch them online this week, maybe something will make me laugh. I went back to check to see who wrote this, I expected it to be one of the new guys, much to me frustration it was Greg and Mindy. Maybe the DVD commentary for this episode will be funny
-
This was an episode that I almost wished they had stripped away everything except for the Pam & Jim moments. This was truly the couple you fell in love with at the beginning of the series, and it was incredibly beautiful and gratifying to see them on the Maid of the Mist. My fiancee had to explain to me the whole wedding entrance dance...this better not happen at my wedding. I could have done without the rest of the episode. Don\'t get me wrong, there were a few moments here and there that I found myself laughing at...Kevin\'s hairpiece, Andy\'s scrotum, and the final funny, yet disturbing visual of Kevin icing his feet. Dwight\'s hook-up seemed implausible (just how drunk was Isabel??), and please erase the awful visual of Michael being dragged into Pam\'s mom\'s room. (shiver) I guess this will give new meaning to the notion of treating every work day as if Pam\'s mother will be arriving.
-
Loved this episode! I could nitpick some things I didn\'t like but overall this was so much better than the past few episodes of the season that I was relieved. This season I\'ve found \"Community\" to be better than The Office and I\'ve been seriously looking forward to the return of 30 Rock. If they handle the baby\'s birth with as much aplomb as they handled the wedding, then I will be thrilled. Hey Kevin & Matt: I\'m still catching up on the podcasts of this season so apologies if you\'ve already said. They\'ll have to give Pam a few weeks of \"maternity leave\" so does Jenna Fischer have any movie projects lined up?
-
Awesome! Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a killer \'sode after the last one bombed. Cold open was just gross - I was eating dinner as I watched it =/ Everyone got lots of air time - I LOVE Dwight as the stud. I love the combo of Oscar/Kevin. Andy was classic. The toast had me in tears (until Jim blew it). The twist with Jim and Pam eloping was so them - I bought it and loved it! I was in tears again with Jim\'s \"plan C, plan B, plan A\" talking-head. Michael, you go! I\'m looking forward to the repercussions of that hookup next episode! Loved it, can\'t wait for our faithful Human Resources Coordinator & Traveling Salesman (that\'s what Kevin is, right?) to discuss it!
-
To answer chad\'s question, the woman Stanley was with was in fact Cynthia the mistress, so continuity is still alive and well. I only just got around to watching this ep. And I have to say I liked it. I\'ll leave the extraneous stuff for the other posters, but the one moment I wanted to comment on was Jim cutting his tie. Up until then, my affection for Jam wasn\'t dead, but just at a hum. But when he did that, like the Grinch, my heart grew three sizes at that moment. That\'s when I knew it was going to be OK.
-
Did anyone see \"Halpret\" on the hotel wedding sign? Just me? Aren\'t I amazing? Anyway, I may have liked this episode. It was so completely, aggressively absurd, and I laughed at some points and stared in dumb wonder at several others. It was unpredictable... at least, to me. Written by Greg Daniels and Mindy Kaling. Man, I have to think that\'s a fascinating partnership.
-
Probably the best ending of an episode of The Office ever. Well it was close to Casino Night, but.. still amazing episode Top 5 for sure, Maybe Top 3. I have to say they hit the ball way out of the park with this episode. The cold open was funny except I didn\'t really want to eat after that. And awww man Micheal hooking up with Pam\'s mom. Pure comedy gold right there, and Dwight being a total dick to Pam\'s hot friend. Typical Dwight. The only part I didn\'t like when Jim accidently mention the pregnancy, thats when I could see the episode going south from there, but I am glad they saved it with Andy\'s ripped up balls. What too early? Amazing Episode! Lets hope Jim and Pam stil together For ev ev ev, For ev ev ev, For ev ev ev, Forever on the dance floor!
-
Ok, this one is the clincher of hope for this season. I was bracing myself for a gawdaweful wedding, and was delivered some very noteworthy laugh out-loud moments. Well done on the cold open. Who knew puking could put Dwight in his place so effectively? Pam came off so bitchy in the request to different people that they tone it down in the odor department, then ... she redeems herself in my eyes by barfing her lung out. Well done and just hilarious to do it with such attitude. The wedding itself was so offbeat and \\\"office staff heavy.\\\" But something worked here. It was like watching a montage of great goofy moments, especially the dancing scene. I cringed to even hear the sentence \\\"i tore my scrotum\\\" Is this even possible??? The dancing in Andy\\\'s room scene did make me think of the cafe disco episode with the dance off, but it was still enjoyable to watch. I am bracing myself for you two to hate the episode, but I for one thought it lived up to the hype. And kudos to the writers for making this couple endearing again, running off like that was totally enjoyable. I would too if i told the whole crowd of people at my wedding that she was preggos. Is Jim turning into Michael? Seems like it. One thing that confused me, on the Dundees episode, wasn\\\'t Stanley\\\'s wife WHITE??? Was this the mistress? Who was that? That was a weird moment thing to do if they changed the color of a character talk about your continuity issues!
-
I can\'t add anything that hasn\'t been said, but I don\'t buy Pam\'s mom hooking up with Michael. I remember on \"Casino Night,\" hearing Pam on the phone with her mom, who clearly knows everything about what\'s going on in the office. SURELY she knew what a goofball Michael can be? In this episode, she acted like she didn\'t even know him. Just weird. Plus, um, we all age, but Linda Purl looked reeeeeeeaally old. Just sayin\'.
-
first half felt like a lesser episode of the office, broad humor and everyone being cartoon characters...nothing special....which it should have been!! second part was just weird \"oh look the characters are dancing again, oh hahaha\" and stanley was totally out of character. Wasn\'t it a few weeks ago we were told \"stanley hates crowds, loud music and dancing\"? yet there he is, *twice* dancing around with everyone eles. keven seemed to get dumped on a ton in this episode, between oscar putting him down and the shoes thing, i thought we were going to see keven cry. and the we got that stupid montage at the end, felt like a totally different shows series ender! it went on for way too long and the continuity during that whole sequence was mish-mashed. then we get michaels and pams mom to give them something to write about for the rest of the season hmm altho all the comments ive read so far, i guess im the only one who didnt love it =/

I just finished listening to your last podcast where Kevin played the Niagara travel clip. I\'m from Toronto, Ontario (which is about 2 hours from Niagara Falls and by extension Buffalo/Niagara region) and that was damn near accurate. To be sure, Niagara Falls in Ontario is still quite the honeymoon/wedding destination for those looking for a cheaper alternative. It\'s very picturesque, has the best view of the Falls, a tax-free casino, kitchy museums like the Ridley\'s Believe it or Not, bike trails, among other great stuff to do. A little further out of town is Niagara-on-the-Lake which has vineyards, and great wine tours, beautiful estates... beautiful walking village. But Niagara, NY? It looks like an ARMPIT. Dirty, rundown, past its heyday. Buffalo is a little better (not by much, IMO)-- but if you\'re going for THE FALLS, then you definitely need to cross the border.
-
This was a pretty funny episode in my opinion. Was it everything I expected? Well, yes and no. I expected this episode to be a bit over the top a la \'Stress Relief\' because of all the promotion surrounding this episode, and there were some of those crazy moments such as Kevin\'s tissue box shoes, the cold open, Andy\'s accident - and yet I found myself laughing pretty loudly. But here\'s what I didn\'t expect - I loved everyone this episode except Pam and Jim. I can\'t quite figure out what\'s bugging me about them. I guess I\'m just tired of Pam\'s bitchiness and Jim bumbling around like an idiot. Or maybe it\'s that everyone was pretty true to their characters except for Pam and Jim. Of all the characters, they\'re the ones who have changed the most. And don\'t get me wrong, change can be good, but only when it\'s coupled with growth. I thought for sure I\'d get all misty-eyed at their ceremony, especially since some of the promos made my cry, but it was Michael\'s face at the end that had me tearing up. His \'proud father\' look at the end was so sweet. It\'s been an interesting start to the season. I agree with some of the posts each week that these past few episodes have been eh, \"B/B-\" There has definitely been some great lines, but I think I\'d trade a few of the laughs for a solid episode with more discreet humor. Perhaps things will settle down now that the wedding and baby announcement are over. And thanks for the chat last night. It was great seeing so many people there and Matt and Kevin, please continue your hard work on the podcasts. Can\'t wait to hear your thoughts!
-
One more thing, I forgot to comment on Kevin\'s Kleenex box shoes! I believe it\'s the single worst moment in this show. Of course we need to be in some high levels of suspension of disbelief to fully enjoy \"The Office\" but Kevin\'s shoes incident absolutely tops the chart (and definitely licks the cat). What hotel would ever throw away guests\' shoes, no matter how stinky they are? Even if we give it a pass, why didn\'t he make a quick trip somewhere to get some sort of shoes? I even believe that Kevin wearing a suit with running shoes (or a slipper, or a sandal, or whatever the F else) would have been 5,000 times funnier than what they did! Sloppy writing. We deserve better.
-
This Cynical Bastard, for one, was won over. Awesome effort. I suppose most of me is impressed by the fact they got this thing over so quickly. The \"bizarre\" aura and sense of timing the thread-starter referenced is a good thing. The Jim and Pam wedding was an inevitable plot-point they covered as soon as they could this season, and so now we can move on to fresher developments and moments. And it didn\'t help that this episode was friggin\' hilarious. I\'m definitely over the Jam romance (the pregnancy tipped me over in a bad way) but this will probably be a classic effort because of the supporting characters. I\'ll be watching this one over and over again. :-)
-
I loved this episode - it\'s definitely in my top 5. Some things were over the top, I suppose, like Kevin\'s Kleenex box shoes, but sometimes you\'ve just got to roll with the goofiness. I think my favorite part was the cold open. Sure, it\'s gross, but it was hilarious. Creed didn\'t get any lines this episode, but him sitting back chowing down on his noodles while everyone around him is hurling does remind us who he is.
-
Am I the only one who had flashbacks to How I Met Your Mother when Lily and Marshall got married? For those who don\'t watch the show, they snuck away before the wedding and got married in private so the inevitable \"problems\" that cropped up at the actual wedding with family and friends wouldn\'t disturb them and they\'d be able to laugh through it. So familiar...
-
Remember, kids: it pays to plan ahead. I\'m happy that Jim recognizes that his co-workers, friends, and relatives can be...well, immature at times. To be polite. The backup plan allowed Pam and Jim to get married on their own terms, and then appease the masses with a for show wedding where they could relax, and enjoy the silliness. Good on you, Jimbo. If I were in his shoes, I probably would have purchases those tickets as well. Hell, I\'ll cross my fingers that no YouTube wedding sensation breaks out anywhere near the date of my theoretical future wedding. This episode had everything I love about The Office inside it, and proved to me that you can marry the main love interests of a show, and still be what you were when you started: fun.
-
GREAT episode! Love the part about Dwight being a ladies man again...not so much about him being the love them and leave them kind of man. Love Jim\'s backup plans *tears* on plan A (corny but soo cute!). Also, love Jim\'s toast until the very last part. I\'m glad everyone in the office had something to do...even if Creed just gave the camera looks. And I LOVE how the writers incorporated the dancing down the aisle to \"Forever\" into Jim and Pam\'s wedding. This is \"the Office\" and they are good about including pop culture stuff to make it more relevant. And how about Pam\'s mom with Michael? T-R-O-U-B-L-E One of my favorite lines from this ep: \"I tore my scrotum.\" Haha!
-
The episode started strong and I felt it was shaping up to be a good one. But somewhere down the middle, they lost me and I got all confused. I don\'t know if it was the editing or if I\'m a little slow, but all of a sudden I was lost, trying to figure out where the heck everybody was and what the hell was happening. I\'d give it a 5/10. Solid start, but it feels like they ran out of ideas to fill the second half. That\'s probably the reason for the unnecessarily long dancing scene and Kevin\'s stinky shoes plot line (do we really need to be reminded of that again??). And what are their intentions with that OMFG development at the end with Pam\'s mom?
-
Overall I think it was an alright episode. I\'m thinking the writers were going for cute and simple for this one -- given the overarching focus on the wedding -- and so I understand that. Some jokes felt a little easy - like Kevin\'s wig and kleenex boxes, Andy\'s scrotum. Anyway it was a cute idea for them to take off and get married on the boat. And the scene with Pam talking to Jim, with her upset about her torn veil was handled well too.
-
Hey Matt... Wanna pick some nits??? Pam and Jim were clearly on the CANADIAN side when they rode Maid of the Mist (which is a Canadian boat ride that docks on the Ontario side and note the very Canadian flag that was on the boat). Supposing the captain could marry them, they\'d need an Ontario wedding licence... Which I doubt they had... LOL ohhh writers.,..
-
I LOVED it. not the dancing down the asile moments, that was super corny, but the really awkward michael moments where you just want to shout \"YOU\'RE RUINING IT!\", and the Jam moments. especially at the end when we shoots the camera one of his looks (my heart melted). You can\'t hate on those parts of the episode
-
I\'d say the first half was where most of the comedy was at and the second half was for all the Jim Pam followers. I loved Michael trying to get someone to share a room with him, especially when Toby offers his. :) Andy\'s plotline was... different this episode :P and I enjoyed all the office characters lines. Im not into all the Jim-Pam stuff but when I compare this to many of the other Jim-Pam moments, like Pam in Stress Relief, this one stands at the top. And I was enjoying the cold open somewhat until everyone started puking. I was watching this episode with someone who had never seen the office and it wasnt the first thing you would want to show. :P Also, Cafe Disco 2, anyone? :)
-
So I\'ve seen/heard either pure love or a big letdown on this episode. I enjoyed it, don\'t get me wrong. There was some classic stuff...Kevin\'s hairpiece, the Dwight kick, Jim cutting his tie. Did not like the cold open. Maybe Andy getting sick (to go with the talking head) but the whole office? A little ridiculous. And we definitely heard way too much about Andy\'s scrotum. Really the entire first half of the episode was quite strange. Even though this is The Office, can anything ever go remotely right? After Jim\'s big speech we get the awkward moments from Michael/Jim. Turns out Jim is quick on his feet, clever, and a pretty smart guy until it\'s convenient for the writers to make him not that way. The wedding itself was all right. Jim and Pam running off was sweet, I suppose. But when they came back for the second wedding, and the brothers (and apparently all the office members) surprise them with that YouTube hit. Turns out we\'ve already seen that like 10 million times or so, so it\'s really not too humorous. May have been saved by the Dwight kick, though. On the plus side, some actual laughs in this episode, unlike the last couple. Don\'t give me this \'best ever\' stuff, however, as I can counter with: Season 2.
