kevin: \"take it back. that\'s my car. that\'s my car!!!\" lol i like david wallace a lot and i\'m glad they continued to make him a likeable character and not some cliche stuffy douche bag corporate suit. not sure of the actor\'s name but i like his subtle expressions like when he looked uncomfortable when they read his statement and that little moment he has with michael when the deposition is over. i think the fact that wallace said michael was a nice guy was a big part of why michael sided with the company. as already mentioned, he\'s all about wanting to be liked. that and i\'m sure it\'s hard when your company treats you better than your girlfriend. i felt really bad for him because he had to listen to all this negative stuff about himself.---which was true--but nevertheless...

Great podcast guys! Thank you for not letting the strike darken the mood, things will get cranky and depressing soon enough. I look forward to some retro-TWSS to get me through. It was a nice surprise to hear you again IanC, I’m glad to hear your new ventures are going well. The Andy Buckley (David Wallace) bump was a good pick for this one. He again helped Michael salvage some dignity, which was a welcome relief after that rather humiliating ordeal. I’m glad you mentioned Ryan’s manipulation of Michael with the “friend? card. He also used it in the cold open when he asked him to answer the pretend phonecall. Ryan has quickly realized that most any sort of pressure makes Michael feel threatened and the way to motivate him is to appeal to his ego (er mancrush). Part of being a good manager is figuring out how to motivate your employees. So is Ryan shrewd or just slimy and a bit lazy? He certainly isn\'t offering Michael genuine friendship, but I don\'t think he\'s tread too far over the line yet. This is a much more interesting tack to take with their relationship than the directly combative stuff we saw earlier in the season. Should we ever get new episodes it would be interesting to see what lengths Ryan will go to. I would love to see BJ play that inner nausea at having to increasingly buddy up to (or is it flirt with?) Michael to keep him in line.

Even though as a woman I should\\\'ve been a little offended by your discussion of Pam\\\'s breast size, I have to admit . . . it made me chuckle! :) After a very long day at work yesterday, I was disappointed when I didn\\\'t see the podcast online when I first got home. Much to my delight, you got it up later! (TWSS) Yeah, I might become a \\\"regular\\\" here. ;) Definitely looking forward to the retro discussion of \\\"Healthcare\\\" - one of my all-time faves. :)

Re: Your comments on the podcast about feeling a little sorry for Michael because you \"like the character so much\". Beyond the obvious good writing and comedy, we care about these characters. I wanted Jim and Pam to get together. I wanted Pam to find someone who didn\'t take her for granted. I wanted Kevin to get the band gig for Pam\'s wedding. I wanted Andy\'s a capella efforts to impress Angela. I wanted Dwight to \"kill\" with his speech at the regional sales awards. I wanted Jan to tell Michael how much she appreciated that he was there for her when she lost her job. I was excited for Stanley on pretzel day. We felt for Kevin as we waited for his medical tests to come in. I think what works so well for this show is that we care for all these people.

i didn\'t listen to the podcast yet... heeeeehe. i will! lol but, i went to ny this past weekend and a friend who is a member of the writer\'s guild says they anticipate the strike lasting from 1-2 years. i\'m sure a lot of people here know guild members too or are guild members and the topic has been covered. just thought i\'d throw that little tidbit in. hope it\'s not true :-(
